Spent a very comfortable night at the Royal Beds were comfortable and nothing was to much trouble for the chambermaid Even helped look for my husbands false teeth after he’d been sick Nice poached egg for breakfast with soldiers just like mother used to make for me when I was a little boy. Look forward to returning for our anniversary, 💓
Had a Fantastic few days staying at the Royal Excellent breakfast with lashings of strong hot tea Superb view overlooking the Sea And the staff could not do enough for you Can’t wait to Return in the spring God willing
We recently stayed for 1 night in a suite overlooking the sea. The room was clean and had been redecorated. Comfy bed and clean bedroom. Breakfast was okay and table service, although the waitress was miserable rook our breakfast order and disappeared onto the kitchen the drinks didn't arrive until we had nearly finished breakfast. After asking for no beans I was shocked to find beans in the pot under the tomatoes!All in all places are struggling on the current climate and good do with a makeover, but we enjoyed our stay and wi visit again
I was with my Wife and also My Son and Girlfriend. We were originally staying at the Grand but our rooms were so poor after 4 attempts In the end we asked if we could go to the Royal instead . We made our way over and were given 2 rooms first one was a lovely Suite on the second floor 211. We then went to the second room on the fourth floor no where near same standard so asked for another room we were then given a nice room on the third floor not a good first sign as door handle was hanging off and the door was mainly filler but inside it was a nice room and clean so finally happy 2 hrs later. In the evening we were booked for our dinner at 7 had a nice drink in the bar beforehand served by the excellent bar man. We then went to the restaurant where we met Sharon the Dining room server she was the most rudest member of staff you could possibly have. No good evening just a stare, I said we have a table booked for 7 pm for 4 thankyou. The reply was a stern room number, I said 310 Sharon replied No no!, maybe my sons room 211 Sharon said no! then Sharon said name I replied with my name Sharon replied no! slamming her paper work on the table.It was actually booked under the room we originally refused so Eventually we got showed to our table. We were served our food which was ok but Sharons attitude pretty much ruined the meal anyway plus I fancied a bottle of wine but alcohol was cash only for some reason as I didn't have £13 in cash we went without. Bed was comfortable and we had a great sea view so something went well. We then booked Breakfast for 9am with checkout being 10 thought plenty of time. We were behind one couple We waited approximately 25 mins before been shown to our table we were still sat at the table at 9:55 and our order still had not been taken We over heard another couple saying they had waited an hour. We then left the restaurant and went to Wetherspoons for breakfast instead. We paid £168 for 2 Rooms with breakfast and dinner. But I would say it wasn't worth half that. . Maybe I should have trusted the reviews. Besides Sharon I thought the rest of the staff were good but actually felt sorry for them as they seem very under staffed in the Dining/Breakfast room and have to put up with a lot of complaints. I did email Britannia customer services when I returned home about the Grand and Royal had a email back from the Grand saying they were disappointed they couldn't give us a decent room and they passed the complaint onto the Royal but have not heard anything as yet 2 weeks later After this experience I will never go to a Britania Hotel again.…
Had to leave a review here as they blocked me and my sister on fb!!!! My sister cancelled her booking and when it came to the day she was supposed to go they still took out £120 of her account!!! When she rang up she was told they dont have time to sort this out and was quite rude. They then advertised something on fb so my sister commented when she would get help for her refund as shes been off sick due to covid and every penny counts. They blocked her. So i commented too and they blocked me removed comments too. Anyway finally they have emailed and shes getting her refund. Be warned guys they are not nice staff and really not helpful.
