We decided to have a mini break with the dog before our main holiday. Did the usual "dog friendly accommodation" search to a area neither of us have visited since childhood (50+ yrs ago). Location is in a very tranquil spot 3 miles from the main road. A working farm setting and lots of animals to see close at hand... More

The hotel - farm is very peaceful. The kids loved all the animals : rabbits, goats, cows, sheep, lambs, pigs... The hotel is well located to visit Scarborough and Whitby. The breakfast is very good and the staff is very friendly.

I am disabled so we had an accessable room that was also dog friendly. It was ideal for my needs. The family and staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is home made and plentiful, there is a conservatory and the small dining area ( where your dog can go with you). Lovely views with outdoor seating, lots of animals and... More

A working farm in a lovely location. Very friendly staff who gave us a lovely welcome - so helpful. The rooms were very clean and tidy, perhaps a little dated. Unfortunately the shower over the bath needed more pressure, this was acknowledged by the owners. Food was great and a great breakfast selection. Nice to see happy animals. The farm... More

Had a magical afternoon with my friends at The Grainary. The staff were very friendly, the food was great and the location is simply stunning. We got to see all the animals, the sow and her ten piglets, the calves, the goat and best of all we were able to bottle feed the lambs. It was the best birthday treat... More

Rooms clean, had a nice view over the lake and valley. Food is of a high quality and also a good variety. Very enjoyable staying on a farm. Great views of the surrounding countryside. Would stay again if in the area.

Myself, my husband and our little girl have just spent a night at the Grainary as part of a couple of days away. We are both animal lovers and the fact that the Grainary is within a farm was of great appeal to us. We also saw good reviews from other people that travelled with kids so that helped deciding!... We arrived on the hottest week-end this year after we booked in we sat outside with a cold beer and took in the views all around. If you have kids there is a play area and plenty of farm animals to see. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent.

Positives perfect views location loved animals amazing dogs! Good size room however very outdated and rather drab, lovely views of farm Resident loung very uninviting. Evening meal and breakfast average. Also concentrate juice and poor quality coffee. Having said all that we had a lovely time with our Granddaughter and that's what it's all about! She loved it so much... More
