We stayed at the hotel 5th September for 1 night on a dinner, bed and breakfast package, wished we had booked for longer as the stay was very relaxing. The country house had a lovely atmosphere and the grounds were breathtaking. The evening meals and breakfast were superb. The room was clean and nicely decorated, the bathroom was modern (maybe... We stayed here for 2 nights on a dinner bed and breakfast package, which seemed good value for money. Having read recent reviews from other guests, we cannot relate their experiences with ours. The communal areas downstairs are spacious and welcoming giving a good impression of a country house hotel. We arrived mid afternoon and the hotel seemed deserted, apart... More

We stayed here a couple of years ago & it was good however since the takeover earlier this year it is excellent. The place has not changed too much including Anne still there to look after you but the Bar area has improved with the new colour scheme & the food is superb. We do not stay in many hotels... More

We chose the hotel mainly based on previous reviews but were bitterly disappointed. The two owners, Gerrald and Mark, have a lot of work to do in our opinion to get this hotel to the standard it is pertaining to be as it is currently a million miles away from what one would expect from a quality country hotel. Our... More

Having read your comments I was disappointed to hear that you had not enjoyed your stay at Wrea Head Hall. I take some of the points raised on board but think it’s true to say that your entry on this forum is not a balanced or fair one. Let’s set the scene for others reading this review. As you say... We came across Wrea Head Hall Country House Hotel browsing the Internet looking for a short relaxing break.......and have been very impressed with the high standards of the accomodation, food and personal service we enjoyed from the moment of our arrival. The hotel is undergoing a refurbishment program which the owner proudly explained when we were exploring. The period charm... More

Arrived, not really knowing what to expect from a country house hotel, not having stayed in one before. We were unsure initially, perhaps due to expectations based on stays in many four/five star hotels, which concentrated on the ultra-modern and corporate image. The room we were allocated was a good size and idiosyncratic. The views were the best I have... More

Just spent a lovely relaxing four days here with my 5 year old son and my parents. The rooms were spotless and comfortable and the house and grounds were inviting and beautiful. The Staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble for them, they looked after all of us impeccably. We stayed on a bed, breakfast and evening meal... More

Stayed at Wrea Head Hotel for two nights recently. Enjoyed it so much that we tried to stay for another night but unfortunately the hotel was fully booked. Excellent hotel, good room, food first class & staff both friendly & welcoming. Understand that a refurbishment / improvement program is underway - so should be even better for our next visit... Just returned from a 2 night stay at this delightful hotel where the reception was warm, friendly and informative and the service equally friendly and efficient. The house, grounds and views provide a wonderful addition to the superb ambience within. Our stay was very relaxing and we wish the new owner and staff every sucess in this venture and we... More
