We have just returned from the most wonderful weekend at Wrea Head Hotel. The building is stunning, set in beautiful countryside. The terrace was a peaceful place to have morning coffee and early evening drinks before dinner. We were on the B&B plan, however, ended up having dinner on both nights. The food was varied and simply wonderful, cooked to...

We've just returned from a perfect evening in the 1881 restaurant at the Wrea Head Hall Hotel. There really isn't anything that could have been better. A stunning location, warm and friendly staff, elegant surroundings, delicious food and superb value. As locals we can't think of anywhere better!

We had a three night stay at the Wrea Head and were delighted. It is over two years since our last visit to the hotel and I was surprise to see the extent of the changes already made by the new owners. The bedroom we had was super …number 14… it had been tastefully renovated and was very comfortable with...

Those Victorians really did know how to put up an impressive building! This is a fine example of a slightly over the top gothic pile. We stayed on a perfect day in July and the complementary Pimms on the terrace, looking out over the beautiful gardens and farmland beyond was the pefect end to a day driving through the dales....

Just spent a very pleasant weekend at Wrea Head Hall. We stayed in room 10 which is on the list for refurbishment this coming winter. In its current condition it is perfectly acceptable, just the bathroom falls a bit short of the rest of room, which is well furnished and has a massive and comfortable bed. I did feel that...

We stayed in room 2 in this character hotel which has fabulous views. The location of the hotel is superb and fitted our needs perfectly as we were visiting Scalby for a wedding in the village. The breakfast each day was excellent with good service. The dining room and bar area were good and the guest lounge areas were also...

We felt enveloped in 'old-world' luxury (with sparkling new mod-cons) from the moment we arrived at Wrea Head Hall. There was a warm welcome from the experienced staff, for whom nothing was too much trouble. The grounds are breathtakingly beautiful, as is the hotel itself. Our room (No 1) overlooked the driveway/entrance, out over the treetops and beyond. From the...

We have had the pleasure of staying at the Wrea Head Hotel on two occasions, both birthday treats. It really is a fabulous place to stay: the house and grounds are stunning, the rooms are welcoming and comfortable (room 15 is fantastic), the food and presentation is excellent (the breakfasts set you up for the day). The staff are very...

This hotel is spectacular. The grounds, the restaurant, the furnishings, everything. If you are the kind of guest who likes everything new and brand spanking, this may not be the place for you. The fittings are in keeping with the hotel - old! However, they are not tired or shabby. The staff are friendly and efficient and the food is...
