Stayed at the Scarborough travel lodge in Oct . Had a good time rooms very comfy and everything you need. Staff polite and so helpful especially staff on reception. Location is brilliant and would definitely stay there again.
I don’t think I have ever stayed in such a depressing room. We requested an accessible room, and to be fair it had everything we needed, and what was there was functional and clean, but it was so dark and dingey that we didn’t really want to be in the room at all. Although there were 3 windows none of them let any light in and overlooked some kind of courtyard. I even considered staying somewhere else for the second night, but we stuck with it. What made it even worse was that the bar/restaurant was closed, so being in the hotel was such a depressing prospect. Spend the extra few quid and stay somewhere better.
We stayed for a weekend the room was very large and lovely veiw of the sea. The only down side is that the bed was very hard but other than that it was super. The travelodge as out side parking but you can never get any as it's always full. There is plenty of car parking around which was only a 5 minute walk from the travelodge and it cost about £10 for 24 hours.
Had booked a short-break at this Travelodge some months before and decided to go ahead with stay and leave prior to lockdown starting. Staff very friendly and helpful, hotel very quiet but facilities provided what we needed. Room cleaning suspended due to COVID-19 social-distancing precautions but that did not bother us - all extra supplies and towels etc available from reception when we needed them 24hrs per day. We had breakfast one day which was excellent with staff very friendly and efficient. This Travelodge is in an excellent location with lovely views and is great base for exploring Yorkshire coast; - Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Filey, Bridlington and on to the North Yorks Moors. Hotel is 5mins walk from town centre and 10mins from Scarborough seafront. Reduced rate parking is available for guests right outside front of hotel (effectively £5 for day, valid up to 1330 next day). We originally paid just over £150 for five nights which was excellent value, we had to leave a day early due to lockdown starting but this nights charge is being refunded.…
We first got room 105. There was a damp smell in the room bathroom was really small in fact shower was just raised off the floor no proper screen just a curtain that didn't go round so floor wet through. We got moved to room 109 better room but very noisey in the corridor and everytime we come back to the room we could smell that people had been smoking I did report and nothing happened also didn't see anyone in the 4 nights we was there wiping down the lifts or handrails and as we got told before the bedding was not going to be changed . The room was facing the grand Hotel and all the workmen who was using the travelodge was parked right outside the front plenty of slammimg van doors and could hear the bad language not nice to hear and same again in the morning. Then the takeaway drivers parked up with there music on loud and talking to each other right under our window didn't help. The hotel is old needs lots doing to it I have stayed here afew times but this has been the worst by far NEVER AGAIN. I did email travelodge but never heard a thing back.…
