Cumberland Hotel - Scarborough [3 Alpha Symbol & AA 3 Star]. Very well situated on the South Cliff a few minutes walk from the Spa complex, beach and town centre with excellent views of the town from the north facing rooms. This excellent hotel has recently been extensively refurbished. 86 bedrooms have central heating, private bath or shower and WC. All rooms have tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryer and TV. Entertainment is provided most evenings in the ballroom. There is an attractive restaurant and quiet lounge. Lift serves all floors (few stairs to some rooms). On street car parking using complimentary permit available at reception.

The manager of the hotel needs to have a word with the restaurant manager about his people skills which are zero. It is his job to accommodate peoples requests who are staying in and paying for the hotel. I guess no one has told him what his role is. Quite frankly I have no idea

Hello, my husband as walking issues, would we be able to walk to and from the town centre?Cheryl
If there are issues with walking I would think it would be very difficult as there is quite a walk to town and a very steep climb.

"There are steps leading up to the main entrance. Not sure if there is wheelchair access at the rear of the hotel"
