Firstly, the location of this hotel couldn't be better - right on the waterfront, I had a great view of the sea. The décor is classic and pretty fresh. My room looked recently decorated to a good standard. The bathroom was clean and presentable. My room didn't have double glazing, though it looked like a lot of them did. Without... More

I had a third floor room with amazing views of the sea. If you like listening to the waves then you can sit for hours! I didn't eat here but the restaurant area looked clean and very well presented. The room itself was lovely and clean. Sidmouth and surrounding area are gorgeous. There are some great walks and the shops... More

The service was excellent, the only slight reservation would be that there was not always enough staff manning the bar. Room was right at the top,the first room offered was unsuitable as it had a low beam right across the room,we asked for a replacement room this was done immediately, with offers of help.

Stayed for one night on half board mid-week in August, having booked at short notice and we concur with most of your reviewers that this was a very enjoyable experience. Sidmouth is a charming Regency town and the hotel and decor reflect the style of that period. We had a very pleasant, large ground floor room facing the sea. The... More

Room with a veranda overlooking the whole of the esplanade and cliffs at both ends of this most beautiful bay. Enormous bed, 6 pillows! Very comfy, slept to the sound of the waves. This hotel has been beautifully redecorated yet retains many interesting historic pictures and artefacts of Sidmouth, so has a good balance of old and new befitting this... More

The only reason to stay here is the central location. Everything else was a bit Faulty Towers, and the owners seem blissfully unconcerned. We were visiting Sidmouth for folk week which may explain but not excuse the reason for the extreme rudeness on reception. The manager was particularly obnoxious. Despite the party atmosphere outside no joy at all in this... More

I stayed at the hotel during folkweek and found that although they were full to bursting the service provided and helpfulness of the staff was extremely good. The breakfast was varied and served promptly and staff found time to chat to guests about their stay. My room was quiet and comfortable and I slept well lulled by the sound of... More
