If you are looking for that homogenised sterile standardised type of hotel then read no further.
Sidholme provides a welcoming atmosphere with the anbience of a bygone era: character, quirky, charm and chandeliers. Thrown in is a big heated indoor swimming pool and a large music

The blue plaque on the wall states that this was the home of Professor Lindemann. It appears that was until 1931. Since then it has been well maintained but despite ensuite improvements it is still fairly basic.
Our room, in gthe main building, had a bath but no shower. The hot w

This is such a beautiful old building with meticulously, gorgeous grounds. There is also an amazing old music room with chandeliers and grand staircase which creates a rather impressive first impression. I was in a rush and did not read the reviews as I normally would do....big m

Has the heating at the swimming pool been fixed yet? I was told by reception that the water is kept at 31 and the air 33 but a family friend with a young baby who stayed recently said it was never that warm.
I've seen the pool, but never used it. A temp of 31 is extremely warm! A temperature of 29/30 would still be lovely and it did look very inviting for a hotel pool.

What does the Garden room entail? My parents are elderly and my father uses a stick - are they easily accessible?
Dear Nickinbracknell, The Garden rooms have a separate entrance at the rear of the main building, there are 2 rooms one is a superior double or can be made into a twin, and the other is a twin. They are at ground level and has a view of the lawn with patio doors that open into the garden. The bathrooms are wetrooms which are wheelchair accesible.

Hi. We are looking for accommodation in Sidmouth and have heard about the annexe at Sidholme hotel. We have some reservations about shared bathroom - how many rooms share each bathroom? There are 4 of us and we would need 2 twin rooms or 1 twin and 2 singles. Look forward to hearing any advice.
"avoid the annexe"
"Don't stay here"
"Ask for an upgraded room. I was told they are working slowly through the hotel decorating."
"Unable to do this as it was a day trip."
"Just tell them what you want and if they can they will get it for you. Most of the rooms overlook the wonderful Gardens"
