Stayed two nights last weekend, a mixture of work and pleasure. Warm comfortable room and lovely sea view. Danielle and her colleagues did a great job of looking after me. The restaurant food was also excellent!

Absolutely perfect location, right on the seafront, a few steps from multiple bars, restaurants, shops (including an amazing department store, Fields). We didn't move the car from the car park once. Would be ideal if you aren't too mobile. We took a bay-window sea-view room, and slept to the gentle sound of waves; I guess a room at the back wouldn't be so wonderful. Everything was clean, comfortable, and served with a smile. My personal highlight was the small but perfectly formed en suite: modern, cheerful and with an excellent shower for once. We liked the bright, minimalist decor, as we hate the gloomy chintz that old fashioned hotels favour, but that said, the otherwise pleasant restaurant/lounge/bar was perhaps a little echoey in the middle of winter. But it was early January. Great for walking too. You can walk from the door right to the next town along the cliffs and take a bus back. The dinner chef is good, and the breakfasts were everything you could want. Very highly recommended - and we are fussy people.

We often stay in the more up market Hotel Victoria but decided to try the Hotel Elizabeth for this one night stay and we were pleased with it. The receptionist was really charming and allowed us to check in at midday as our room was ready. This was a good start and it continued with all the staff we met being exceptionally friendly and helpful. Stunning views from our room which was very comfortable. Breakfast was especially good with my choice of Eggs Royale for the cooked choice. We might well return!
