I visited on Saturday evening with my wife and we had an excellent meal in the garden. It is in a very pleasant location to sit on a warm evening with plenty of places to park. There also ppeared to be some animals at teh edge of the garden.

We stayed here for a one night for a friends wedding & couldn't find fault! We had a room in the pub that had a four poster bed in a very large vaulted room, dripping with character. We were a family of 6 & the kids had inflatable beds made up on the floor & a cot for our youngest... More

Me and my motorcycling mate rode down from London again for what has turned out to be a really relaxing and enjoyable Sunday lunch. ...I had the roast beef which medium rare was exquisite...absolutely delicious. ..with generous portions 2 of free range vegetables. ..staff here are so pleasant and approachable and with the huge cavanous back garden comprising of many... Just a truly diamond find! Sitting in the sun sipping cider, a walk in the countryside, fab food and accommodation. The hosts are fantastic and the selection of guest ales and local ciders just brilliant. I won't be staying in a premier inn again after finding this near my place of work! Absolutely brilliant!

Stayed for one night with a colleague whilst working in the area, a hidden gem , vey old place hidden away , great to have no mobile signal for a change. Very friendly locals , nice atmosphere , clean tidy . I had the four poster bed room , wasted by myself I must say . No sightings of the... More

This pub is just lovely. We went here for lunch before visiting shaw corner national trust building. The warm greeting we got from the staff was so friendly. The bar was busy but we got a table. Lovely ale to drink and food so tasty. We had the cottage pie and veg. Food was a good sized portion and hot... More

My wife booked us in here for a surprise stay in February and it couldn't have been a better short break. The fact there was a local folk band playing all night next to roaring log fires just completed the great atmosphere. We stayed in the large bed room directly over the bar with the big four poster bed. It... More

Went for drinks and dinner with friends but till we went to order didn't know they don't do food during Bank Holidays - really our fault since we should have checked but would have been good if they do. Will be going for dinner during a cold winter night since I'd love to sit inside as it looked really nice,... More

Visited for the second weekend running as we think we have found the perfect place for lazy summer lunches with good friends. Beautiful old building with pretty gardens - you feel you are in the middle of nowhere but a windy country lane or two and you are back on the A1. I really would recommend this place for good... First impressions great, charming looking pub, nice outside area with caged rabbits, birds etc. Lady serving behind the bar very nice and helpful. We ordered two lots of sandwiches and although it was a sunny, busy lunchtime, the wait was unacceptable. After 45 mins waiting for our food was told it would be served soon. After another 15 mins was... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
*UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT FROM 8th NOVEMBER*Please pop in for a warm welcome, warm open log fires and great food and beers x. This delightful country inn was built in the 14th century and retains all the traditional features including inglenook fireplaces and a wealth of exposed beams. Following its closure last year we have carried out extensive refurbishment of the pub and rooms. This has resulted in us being awarded 4 star inn status by the AA reflecting the high standard of the accommodation. We have also been fortunate to find a fantastic chef who is using fresh and, where possible, locally sourced produce to create unpretentious modern dishes. We look forward to welcoming you to The Brocket Arms. ... more   less
