Booked to park car for duration of our holiday and stay overnight on return after early morning arrival at Manchester airport, as it had included car parking and taxi to and from the airport (although you have to pay the airport drop-off fee separately). Car was where we left it, so hadn't been moved off-site, which was good. Taxis were punctual and only a 10-15 minutes drive from airport. Hotel is an attractive, brick-built building, situated in a lovely, quiet, leafy area. Public areas inside the hotel are modern, well decorated and well maintained, but the outside really lets it down - peeling paintwork and rotten, wooden window frames with single glazing. Exterior definitely needs upgrading, as this is the first part guests see on arrival. Our room was upstairs, but there is no lift so had to lug our 2 suitcases up by ourselves. Stairways and rooms also need upgraded - old-fashioned décor, tired, worn carpets, scraped paintwork and walls. Also, one of our bedside lamps had obviously not been working for some time as the bulb-holder was taped up. Although quite small, with not much space to move around, our double room was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast room is very attractive and bright and there was a good choice of food items available. Cooked food was fresh and well-prepared and the breakfast staff were very welcoming, helpful and efficient.

We booked this hotel for an overnight stay and parking for 1 week while we were in Gran Canaria. The hotel was booked through TUI web site link advertised as park and stay with taxi travel included to and from airport in package. When we were leaving early morning (04:00hrs) reception told us the taxi company are always early. We waited outside and no taxi. Continually phoned taxi company to ask where the car was. Hotel reception for some unknown reason failed to tell us there was a rear entrance to the hotel and the car was waiting for us at the back of hotel. We left at 04:35hrs, not please. While waiting another customer returned from holiday to find their car had been intentionally damaged and that they had been told someone else also had vehicle damage. When we returned from our holiday our car had been intentionally scratched along the driver door and rear passenger door causing £350.00 worth of damage. Car was directly under cameras. We reported this to the hotel with reception having no concern at all. They did eventually give us the email address for the manager of the hotel Paul Rodgers. Sent email to Paul Rodgers who has not even bothered to reply. Hotel not recommended do not leave your car.

Firstly I very much regret that your car was damaged but was of the belief that I had responded to you but will re-check my mail systems. Sadly it is a fact of life that cars can be damaged in car parks, super markets or on the street however we cannot be held responsible for this damage. You did complete a parking document with terms and conditions which does clearly indicate that the hotel accepts no liability for damage how so ever caused. The company gives no guarantee or warranty that no damage would occur. Clearly of no consolation to you now this is a most rare situation and regret the expense you have suffered. Thoroughly happy with our stay at the Mercure. We travelled down the night before a flight from Manchester Airport (which is conveniently located around 10-15 mins drive away). Given the purpose of the stay we weren’t on the search for anything particularly luxurious but were pleasantly surprised with a clean and fresh room just off of reception. Despite the rooms location, noise was not a problem. Staff wise: The man who worked reception/bar on the nightshift was lovely and very accommodating. The other staff we came across were fine too but nothing standout like that individual. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from a high street with various eateries etc so we walked along there and I therefore cannot comment on the food within the hotel. All in all, 100% happy with our choice to book here, it was great value and fit for purpose.

I booked this hotel for a business trip, I was met by wiktoria ( this is spelt correctly) who couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming, the room (115) was nice ( only downfall was that the pillows were flat but I take my own anyway) the bed was comfortable though, the hotel has a small gym, pool and sauna, although I didn’t use these, the evening meal was superb, I had the garlic mushrooms starter and the lamb for a main which I had the next night too, I would totally recommend staying at this hotel
