We visited Ballater to participate in the Etape Royale cycling event. We were properly spoilt and loved our stay at No45☕️. Breakfast in the stunning conservatory set us up for 100miles of cycling! Our superior double room was very tastefully adorned. Fabulous bed linen made the comfy bed a welcome oasis after a full day exploring the stunning Royal Deeside....

Great location close to town - helpful owners - comfortable room and mostly and amazing breakfast using local produce and produce from the garden. Many of the suppliers have a royal warrant with Balmoral Castle nearby. Our room was spacious and comfortable at the back with a view of the lovely garden.

This was a weekend visit to participate in the 'Etape Royale' cycle event starting and finishing in Ballater. This B&B is a perfect location for this and other activities in the Cairngorms. On arrival I was greeted by Penella who advised me (and others) we could put our bicycles in their garage. The real surprise was that Penella would serve...

This B&B on the edge of Ballater town (only a short walk into the town centre) is a former hotel that has been refreshed and changed into a B&B. Inside it still feels like a traditional Scottish country hotel - dark wood panelling, tartan carpets, heavy furniture - but it was clean, comfortable, and homely. Bathroom modern and the WiFi...

If five stars are as many as any establishment can earn then no 45 is worth all five!! Cannot improve on perfection. I have said more in the past but since Tripadvisor is demanding more information before accepting my review ( which is, let's face it a weird requirement) Gordon and Penella are gems!

No. 45 in Ballater is a perfect home base for visiting Balmoral Castle, Crathie Kirk, and the Royal Lochnagar Distillery. Of the 8 places we stayed in during our 16 day car trip through Scotland and northern England, No. 45 was our favorite. We spent two nights in the ground floor Garden room. The spacious bathroom with its HUGE shower...

My colleague and I were welcomed with slices of homemade flapjack and my room and bed were very comfortable. A 5-10 minute walk will get you into the centre of town for restaurants and bars. Breakfast is served in a large and bright conservatory overlooking the rear garden where we sat out and enjoyed our morning coffees taking in the...

Booked the last room to be had in ballater on one of the busiest weekends of the year. Victoria week, where locals dress up as Victorian's and various activities are available including pipe bands marching is a great time to visit this quaint town, recently hit by horrendous floods. The hotel is situated within walking distance of most delights that...

Very friendly host, spacious comfortable room (garden suite) with nice ensuite. Lots of choice for breakfast, both cooked and continental with lovely views of the garden. Room could be improved by adding a small fridge if anything but overall a great stay.
