this hotel has a reach history and good foundations. however the room we got needs to be urgently renovated... breakfast was ok. and they seem to have a fine bar and restaurant . you can get picnic gear and fishing gear and go fishing until the near by river. the surrounding town is nice and quiet.

A warm cosy atmosphere with traditional Scottish decor and a real log fire in the guest lounge, perfect for relaxing with a coffee or something stronger. Our room was basic but clean and functional with everything we needed for our weekend, just don't expect a whole lot of water pressure from the shower when everyone is trying to get ready... More

A comfortable room which was slightly noisy and creeky floorboards. television was adequate, good WiFi. Food in the hotel was excellent in nice surroundings but booking ahead was essential as there could be slight delays in service if for example eating in the bar. The hotel does not have it's own carpark although there is a free carpark a short... More

This hotel is quite shabby and in need of a little T L C.There isn,t a lift which is difficult if you have large suitcases. The food was fairly good.We were on a small group tour where we didn,t have a menu choice. Our room was large enough but others complained theirs was quite small an cloustrophobic.Having said this if you are... The Atmosphere is wonderful, service is good. Sticky Toffee Pudding and French Press Coffee are the best in Scotland !! Gentleman at the front desk was also quite helpful on historical sites in the area.

Excellent service, staff friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble. Restaurant food excellent, service with a smile. This is dog friendly hotel and is used extensively by locals. On road parking facilities and nearby free car park. Nearby shops are still recovering after winter floods which badly affected the area. Views out of front of hotel very picturesque

Top location in Ballater and good looking hotel from the outside, reception & lounge traditional and comfortable. Friendly & informative welcome at the desk. Bedroom basic and decor very tired. Bed comfortable, bathroom clean but shower weak and lukewarm. breakfast was fine. The hotel bar is pretty gloomy. In general I'd expect better for £99 per night. I'd be looking... More

My husband and I stayed for one night for a family occasion at the golf club. The location was great, walking distance from the golf club and many of our family were also staying there. The hotel itself is pretty shabby and the rooms poor quality with a shower room basically in a cupboard off the bedroom. Woodchip on the... More

First impressions count but they can also dissolve very quickly. The reception area, the lounge, the restaurant and the bar all looked good on arrival and gave the place a good impression. Then we got to the room. If you are ever staying here, dont stay in room 24. Whilst I can sleep almost anywhere, the constat drum of whatever... More

We stayed at the Deeside Inn in Ballater for 3 nights in May. Our first impressions of the hotel were excellent. It has a lovely, welcoming lounge area and restaurant. But, when we got to our room, we were disappointed at its drabness, and we were doubly disappointed when we saw our primitive bathroom. My partner has hip problems, and... More

Only an hour's drive from Aberdeen, this part of the Cairngorms is world famous for its stunning scenery and offers some of the best walking, climbing, mountain biking, river fishing and wildlife watching in Scotland. The inn itself is welcoming and cosy with open log fires, wooden floors, tartan carpets, comfy tweed furnishings and well appointed comfortable bedrooms.
