A one night stay-over whilst in Bedford. I had booked a single room with shared facilities, and was pleasantly surprised to find that I had been upgraded to a twin room with private facilities.. The breakfast was good. Overall the hotel is quite basic, but adequate and

"You get what you pay for" people say, and I never listen. I stay in Bedford once a week. It took many hotels to be booked up and a few at exorbitant prices for me to book Tennyson House hotel from Wednesday to Friday this week. To be honest, after the Wednesday night I

Response from TennysonHouse, Manager at Tennyson House Hotel
Responded 2 weeks ago
Dear customer, First of all I would like to apologise that you did not enjoy your stay at Tennyson House Hotel, we do go above and beyond to ensure all guests have a good experience. To be honest we are fully booked most nights so you were lucky to get a room. As protocol we do contact guests close to the end of check in time to confirm they will still be attending. Check in time is 2pm to 9pm which I am sure you were aware of. Having turned up earlier then u said when contacting, the on duty manager said your early in a nice manner. We do take pre orders for breakfasts although if a guest is not sure we say no problem you can decide during our breakfast hours which is made clear on arrival. On this occasion you stated breakfast was not wanted due to leaving early. After arriving very late to breakfast we offered the best we could. We have many rooms some en-suite and some rooms that have shared bathroom facilities, the type of room you had booked was clearly stated when making the booking. Our bathroom facilities have been recently refurbished as you can read from guests who have stayed with us previously. I can agree we do not have control over other guests and their actions so I apologise on behalf of these guests. Unfortunately I do not have an explanation for the furniture apart from that is not where they usually sit. If you are ever in the area I would be happy to offer you a free stay as we do not like our guests to not feel wanted.

Arrival was easy, roomy parking to rear of the property. Main doors were locked and no answer to the door bell but a quick call to the hotel from outside had an extremely nice and friendly member of staff opening the door and showing me inside. I'd booked an ensuite room (room
