Me and my husband have stayed at Rivet Forge about 4 times now. In fact it could be 5! My parents have stayed their and other family members on our recommendation. We have recommended River Forge to friends too that have stayed and not one of us have anything but praise for the place. Kathy and Paul are so friendly...

We booked the double room for 2 nights, for a base, as were planning our wedding in Scotland and found it very comfortable. The double room has its own entrance, with a lovely, tastefully decorated lounge and dining area. Paul and Kathy have thought about their guest and appreciate that after travelling, not everyone wants to go out to eat....

We booked this very last minute (a couple of days before we were due to stay) as decided to split our journey heading from the North of Scotland to Alton Towers. We advised the owner that we would be arriving later in the evening and this wasnt a problem for her, in fact she called us to warn us about...

We stayed for 1 night in the twin room which is situated at the back of the house, you will need to be careful as steps and un-even slabs could easily see you fall especially in dark but the landlady did point this out. The pictures on the website make River Forge to look a lot better than it looks....

I certtinly would not have been offended, you can not please eveybody. I would have found you alternative accomodation elsewhere, there was availabilty...

I don't understand the negative comments from people - what are their lives like that they had a bad time here? This is a lovely small B&B - only two rooms - that are decorated simply but lovely. The twin beds were comfortable and the hot water was hot. We arrived late & they assisted us with calling for food...

I agree with the review below. Kathy and Paul were so helpful and went out of their way to make us feel welcome after a long, long journey from Winchester/London. The breakfast could be as little or as much as you wanted, was beautifully cooked and was a very relaxing way to start the day. I think December last year...

Having seen some totally unacceptable and ridiculous comments about River Forge, I feel I must add my thoughts retrospectively. On the recommendation of friends who had stayed a couple of times, my friend and I booked in for a night on our way south from Scotland and enjoyed it so much that we stayed again on our return journey. OK,...

Ok the B&B as we knew was on the edge of a busy road but the noise from the road was constant thought some of the trucks whizzing by were going to end up in our room !!! the room itself was freezing there was an additional heater but that wasnt much good either ..as has already been pointed out...

My husband and I stayed here with our toddler daughter for one night en route to England from Scotland. When we booked this accommodation we were impressed with the favourable reviews. However, we were disappointed to find the suite was really quite grubby with a bathroom that had quite obviously not been cleaned properly. There were hairs in the shower...

The suite which we stayed in had damp up the Walls and was freezing, despite the fact that it was August! There were beetles in the En-suite and the bed in the bedroom was hard and uncomfortable to sleep on. There was also lots of noise from the road and the sofa in the room smelled. We didn't realise that...
