I stayed here with my partner for his birthday. We stayed in a regular room, not a suite and it was gorgeous! Everything was so well maintained and everything we needed was there. My only criticism would be the noise from below. I have no idea what was below us but we heard really loud music, after our meal (which... More

I have been coming to this beautiful hotel for twenty years, usually five or six times per year. The staff are always very welcoming and have become good friends. The junior suites are fabulous, very tastefully decorated and fabulous comfortable beds. Dinner is a real joy, if you love a big juicy steak then this is the place for you, the... More

I have delayed writing this review in the hope that I would receive a reply to my complaint from the hotel, however this has not arrived. We booked to stay at Dalston Hall for two nights for our 35th wedding anniversary and requested room 6 on booking as we had stayed in this room for our honeymoon. On arrival we... More

I visited the hotel on the 7th of November 2015 and stayed there for one night with my partner. The building is very welcoming, elegant and genuine. Our room had a great view on the garden and a spectacular bathroom. We had dinner and breakfast and both meals were of great quality. The dinner was really nice with great looking... More

Large bedroom beautifully appointed. Everything very clean and staff excellent. Breakfast freshly prepared and Continental selection very good. Lovely building and surroundings and easy to find. Good place to stay.

This sprawling old hotel site on staggeringly beautiful grounds a few minutes drive outside the lovely city of Carlisle is a fascinating place to stay. Used extensively for weddings and special events, it seemed largely devoid of the more traditional traveler and somewhat short staffed for such a huge historical building. Despite a conspicuous lack of staff about, the rooms... More

The appearance of the hotel is certainly striking on arrival. We stayed in room 6 which as other reviewers have said is up a tight spiral stone staircase so not for those with mobility issues (or big suitcases). It was worth the climb though - spacious room, comfortable bed. The bathroom was up a couple of steps so be careful... More

This hotel is simply beautiful. We stayed in room 6 which has it's own stone spiral staircase to the most amazing suite. The room is absolutely stunning. Huge comfy bed and a nice bathroom. Great views overlooking the rear of the grounds. Lunch, dinner & breakfast were all absolutely amazing. Great presentation & cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend the... More

Had the pleasure of Dalston Hall for a recent family wedding. After several hiccups and concerns on the lead up to the actual wedding day, everything turned out perfect. It would be difficult to find a more splendid setting. The Hotel, the grounds and the magnificent marquee lend itself in whole to an unbeatable venue. The hiccups and concerns on... More
