We stayed here for two nights whilst walking Hadrian's Wall. The hall is beautiful and I can see why people get married there. Our room was in the tower and accessed by a stone spiral staircase- I've never stayed anywhere like it - what a treat! The bed was very comfortable and there was lots of hot water for soaking... Was there for a wedding in june and was totally shocked by the lack of good customer service . A group of us had left glasses on a piano by accident and an employee rudely shouted at us to move the glasses because it wasnt a table. Later on a 2 year old child had a toy car she had... More

Can wholeheartedly agree with previous comments re:organision and communication to bride and groom and their parents in the run up to a wedding. It is a very stressful time and not all about money (management!!!),not even a thank you when paying the balance. Bride and groom don't even get a room free and we asked if the bride could get... Impromptu visit as looking for wedding venue as had read previous reviews. Left details with a gentleman who didn't appear interested, not a good first impression. Was informed the wedding planner would contact me asap, I am still waiting. Have rang twice, but still awaiting a reply.

The rooms are all lovely especially the tower rooms and we had a look in them all lol , Can't wait for the actual... More

What a beautiful hotel in a fantastic setting, our room (4) was stunning and made me squeal with delight when I saw the bathroom. The garden view from the room was gorgeous. The staff were both friendly and efficient. Breakfast was great and when we visit again we will definitely stay for one of the famous steaks. Great alternative to... More

This was supposed to be a luxury hotel but was a bit of a strange place which resembled an old house/ youth club. The rooms were reasonable, nothing special though. The food was not great and there was a mix up with our dinner order. It took a long time to actually get any food at all even though the... More
