Informed of a 3 day deal and we weren't disappointed. Lovely comfortable inn
Friendly service and lovely food. Set in the countryside but only a short drive away to the lakes and other places of interest. Ideal base.

If you’re up Cumbria way I highly recommend this “off the beaten path”country inn. Warm, friendly service, great dinner & breakfast, spotlessly clean rooms. Built in 1659, it has great character and the waiter/barman, Mitch, was great!

Depends what you want to do, if it’s ‘big shops’ and shopping you want drive and park in Carlisle. If it’s peace and quiet, country pubs, walks, lunches, log fires, then stay out of town and in countryside. Map and walking book recommended for wandering around country lanes and walking. Enjoy!
