Following a slight hiccup on checking in in relation to the 'Best Available Room' offer from My Hotel Break we had a wonderful stay. The room was spacious and aside from a dusty lower shelf which appeared to have been missed on the cleaning rota everything was of a good standard and clean. Great food, great service and small but...

Having kept it a secret since November my fiancee sprang a wonderful surprise on me this weekend. She had tickets for a recording of I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue. We were booked to the Crown and Mitre for two nights. A central location, just a short walk from the station, made it ideal. Dinner in the restaurant was good,...

Hotel in brilliant position and excellent value. Our room had been refurbished to a high standard and was first class. Slighty dissapointed with the traditional roast dinner which was ham/gammon which must be a Carlisle tradition

Very good hotel in a very good position. The hotel looks onto the shopping area of Carlisle at the front and it has its own parking area at the back. Breakfast was excellent but my choice for dinner was not good in the bar - mixed grill was poor - and this was confounded by the noisy barman who continually...

I am usually quite hesitant in posting bad reviews. I prefer to tell folks what places are great and worth their time. The Crown and Mitre is an exception for me. The hotel is just bad. The staff is actually quite good--both helpful and friendly-- but the rest of the experience was awful. The room was beyond faded, the carpets...

Arrived on Friday afternoon, 30th December, for a two night stay with another couple. The receptionist was very friendly and quickly booked us in to our room which we were a little disappointed to find was in the annex which is across the carpark in a different building. We needn't of worried as the room was lovely and clean and...

This is I think the fifth time my wife and myself have spent the weekend at the Crown and Mitre to do our Christmas shopping. We stayed in a King room which is now I feel a little expensive, the room is one of the newly refurbished ones which is very nice but a bit more care to the finish...

This hotel is in a quiet area near shops and restaurants. The inside of the building is stunning with sweeping staircase, stained glass windows , high ceilings in the public areas. Stayed for weekend, Nice swimming pool. Room was small and while the hotel has refurbishment in progress going on its unfortunate that the room we had needed attention (...

It's the First time we have stayed here. Hotel looks attractive from the outside reception and bar are all very nice, staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. The only negative point is that the room was a little small this was reflected in the price. However it was very clean and comfortable.
