Beautiful hotel great location for shopping and eating. We were in a room in the annex it was a nice room with everything you needed but would have preferred a room in the main building. Also without the sat nav l think we would still be looking for the car park!!having said that if we were to visit again we know...

I've stayed at the Crown and Mitre recently on a business trip to Carlisle and have booked to stay again, one for the quality of the hotel but also because its one of the very few hotels in Carlisle city centre that has its own car park. The staff are welcoming in reception and the ground floor areas are very...

A nice hotel in a lovely Edwardian building in the centre of Carlisle a short distance from the castle. Magnificent period features particulary the staircase are a delight. Our room to the back of the hotel had open views over rooftops to the distant hills. Very comfortable bed was spoilt a bit by a shaky headboard. The staff, both in...

Attended a wedding meal and reception here. Check in was smooth and friendly. Room was lovely although a bit of refurb going on in one corridor we had to go through to get there. Pipes sticking out the walls. Wedding meals were delicious and served hot and in a timely manner. The night started of with table service but later...

Check in was met by very grumpy receptionist. Allocated a room in an annex room freezing had to use a portable heater, rooms very very dated and tiny. Bathroom had mould round bath, separate toilet which was really tiny and so small that you could not close the door when using toilet. Evening meal only average would not recommend. Breakfast...

I visited the hotel last Saturday with a mate having ridden round the lakes all day on our motorbikes. The hotel is going through some renovation works however the quality of the hotel is brilliant, maintains its heritage but modern, quality rooms and fixtures, immaculately clean and dead central to the city centre. The hotel has great facilities including a...

Although the hotel was undergoing some sort of refurbishment all amenities were fully functional. Meals were great, the bar was well stocked with very friendly staff. room was very comfortable with en-suite. They also have an excellent swimming pool. The hotel is also situated in the town centre with easy access shops, taxis and train station. .
