I am not going to go on about all the negative things at this hotel, the previous reviews do that for me. However, this is the cheapest hotel in Carlisle...so what do people want and expect! So, let's focus on the positives. It's in a great location, close to the rail station, close to the town centre, close to bars... More

My wife and I stayed in the County Hotel purely because we had a voucher that entitled us to a 2 night stay and this was the most convenient destination. When we arrived at the hotel I had to squeeze the car into a corner of the car park because it was completely full. We checked in, and the receptionist... More

For an old building the county hotel was very warm and well light.Staff were very polite and saw to quests needs straight away.Own restaurant which catered from 3 course meals to breakfast.I would say that clearer understanding is needed to wether breakfast is included in price of stay.

Stayed this week for 4 nights on a coach party on half board. Its only plus point would be our meals which were very good and tasty apart from the last night when we had mushroom soup which was vile, the waiting staff were good. Only had one pint of john smiths in the rear bar for £3.50 which lost... More

The entrance to the County should serve as a warning. It is grubby and unkempt. By happy chance I was allocated a room at the back and there was no noise. It was a struggle to open the windows even a fraction on a hot night. The room was huge but the lighting was extremely dim and the overhead lampshade... More

I was booked into this hotel to stay while working away from home for one night. I read the other reviews on the way to the hotel and was apprehensive about what I might find when I arrived. I needn't have worried. The hotel staff were polite and helpful on arrival, the room was clean, comfortable and perfect for a... More

When I put reviews on TripAdvisor I am always 100% honest and will tell you the truth so here we go: My friend and I visited this hotel on a 4 day coach tour of the Lake District. I did have concerns before we went when I looked up the position of the hotel but thought a coach company of... More
