We stay at Hawksdale for one night on our cycle ride from Lands End to John O'groats and it was the best accommodation of the whole trip. From the offer to do our laundry on arrival to the delicious homemade cake. The room was superb, classy and beautifully decorated and the views from the roll top bath to die for....

Nothing was too much trouble and the house layout lent itself to a relaxing and convivial few days. There are lovely...

We arrived on the Queen's 90th Birthday and shared a marvelous afternoon and morning with our hosts, Lorraine and Martyn. And Kit, too, their precious dog. Upon our arrival, tea & cakes on their terrace overlooking their beautiful property immediately relaxed us....

We were doing the Reivers Cycle route and this place is right next to the route. Fantastic old building with stunning views in very quiet location. Extremely comfy, large and characterful room (Red room I think) with a private bathroom next door to the room (not en suite as such, but just as good). Welcome cakes and tea + magnificent...

Very much enjoyed my stay. A very beautiful house, a most scenic location, with wonderful views and country walks to do straight from the house. The food is truly excellent and the owners very welcoming.
