A group of us stayed here after walking the Cumbria Way. This hotel is very good value for money and the owners were really accommodating to our requests. Our stay coincided with the birthday of our group leader so we enlisted the help of the lady of the house to arrange a cake on arrival plus make recommendation and booking... More

Mixed feelings about this hotel. The wife owner has helpful and friendly. The room was clean and quiet (because it was in the back). The breakfast was well done. Yet, the decor was tired. It was a tiring walk with a heavy pack uphill from the city center. There are no decent restaurants nearby. But worse, the husband owner was... More

5* stay. Very comfortable. Clean, fresh, warm room with a great breakfast. Lots of choice. Easy parking during our stay. Pleasant host and good location. Didn't try any of the evening meals on offer as we didn't stay long enough. One night stay.

We stayed at the Angus Hotel for two nights whilst visiting Carlistle. We arrived very early but were checked in straight away. The room was a good size, clean and modern with a large comfortable bed. We had a nice room at the front of the hotel which had a large bay window which looked out over the Main Street.... More

The Angus Hotel seems to be 2-3 row houses melded together to form the hotel, which can accommodate about 24 guests if full. My room was simple but clean and adequate. Breakfast, served in the downstairs dining area, was excellent, from full English breakfast to more healthy options such as cereal and yogurt if desired. The hotel is perhaps half... More

We booked two rooms here on the night before our son's graduation in Carlisle this July. We were at first a little concerned by the fact the hotel was on a main road and the look of the frontage and it's signage was somewhat underwhelming. However, we had no need for such minor concerns. We found both rooms to be... More

Spotless rooms (quieter ones are at the back) tea and coffee making facilities with mugs (not silly little cups) and excellent shower. Good breakfast with buffet and cooked options and fantastic value. Thank you. I will be back.

I booked this hotel, along with some friends. We all booked it and received a confirmation e mail. Along with another friend we then cancelled our original bookings at other hotels. The following day I and my friends all received an e mail saying they had double booked and could not find us anywhere else as Rod Stewsrt is performing... More

We booked this hotel direct for a two night stay. On arrival, we received a friendly welcome and were provided with a nice large comfortable room at the front of the hotel. Although situated on the main Scotland Road, we were not disturbed by traffic noise, although our stay was at a weekend. On one of the nights we took... More
