Warm welcome. Sadly, the place got flooded the next morning. Agree with Anthony M (Mixed feelings as the people were lovely there".) Needs a lot of TLC. The morning of the flood, the 2 women were fantastic and so helpful. They couldn't do enough for us and kept apologising. We ate breakfast in the Happy Diner down the road -... More

Not great, but not bad. Very dated and is in need of some major refurbishment. The staff were friendly and pleasant. We had a problem with our electronic room key, which was fixed promptly👍 the room was dated but it was clean and could do with some secondary glazing to keep the heat in and the noise out. Breakfast was... More

Riverside is way past its sell by date! It needs a lot of attention, tlc and a major refurbishment. Not an expensive place but not cheap either. It is not dirty but it is really run down yet rooms were spacious with a bidday even and a lovely view of the river! Once upon a time this place was surely... More

Booked this hotel before seeing the reviews which made us very apprehensive. Yes the hotel is old but that is part of the beauty of it. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was nice and clean overlooking the river. Breakfast was very nice and we enjoyed our stay here.

We were beyond disappointed with this hotel. We stayed with our 6 year old and it is not for a family at all...or suitable for anyone! It was tiny, dirty, hot and stuffy and just awful. We had an awful nights sleep and couldn't wait to leave in the morning. Would even dream of attempting to eat at this place. Wish we... More

I have just returned from a business rip whereby I left it to a colleague to arrange our accomodation....bad move, they obviously didn't check trip advisor first!! This place is dismal, on our approach I thought 'hell this is a hostel not a hotel'!! There were badly fitting and ragged net curtains at the windows. There was litter and cans... More

I booked this hotel, then read the reviews!! Which made me worried. We arrived at the hotel Friday evening, and stayed 2 nights, £138 for 2 nights including breakfast for all 3 of us. The hotel is very old, the room was a little run down yes there's a couple of stains on the old carpet but the room was clean,... More

The hotel is reported to be 400 years old but is tired. New carpets required on stairs and room. Hotel cold, no lounge to awaiting friends and family. No one on reception. Cooked breakfast was available but would liked to have had more choice of cereal, yogurt, fruits.

Rude staff, took payment twice and got told that was my problem not there's! Dirty, smelt awful and would never return!! Go premier inn for same price and better stay!! Def the worst hotel we have ever had the misfortune of staying in, if I don't get refund for second payment I will be taking it further
