The Carlton Park Motown tribute night was good fun. The singers (The King & I) had everyone up dancing and were very entertaining.
The 3 course dinner was lovely (3 choices on each of the 3 courses) and the staff were polite and helpful.

The hotel is say o.75 of a mile South of the Town Centre. If you turn left out of the hotel and follow Moorgate Road into the Town Centre the road splits 3 ways outside the Town Hall. Hard right past end of Town Hall is a Wetherspoon's - The Bluecoat. Facing you is the High House. Down the right-hand side of High House and Britannia Inns pub is then on left. Apart from Bluecoat, if keep to left of the High House (on Ship Hill) and turn left at traffic lights (on to Westgate) past Neelagiree (excellent Asian restaurant) there are two good real ale pubs - Cutlers Arms on right - that often has music on (it's beside open air car park). Further along, on left, is New York Tavern.
The clubs are all around the Ship Hill and Westgate junction.
