Trying to contact by phone a nightmare, answer phone in operation most of time. Email only marginally better. Twin room rather bijou, beds quite hard & all is just a quirky mishmash! Gemma is a most welcoming host, & breakfast was very nice & substantial.

Within a few minutes walk of shops etc., Stamford Lodge ie well positioned. We received a very warm welcome from Charlie who offered tea and made sure we had everything we wanted. She also organised breakfast the next morning which was delicious. Our room was comfortable and helped make our stay enjoyable.

we had visited here before and it is really lovely. my only comment is that no one answered the phone. we arrived earlier than expected and phoned to see if we could drop our belongings a little earlier rather than carry them all day. no answer on the phone.... 20 calls later no answer... we emailed and no response. we have stayed at this delightful residence in the past and we weren't disappointed on this occasion either .gemma the proprietor couldn't be more helpful, the rooms were quirky and nicely appointed not the largest but we only slept there the breakfast was innovative ,plentiful and more than sufficient,a tad expensive for a guest house but well worth the experiance

If you're planning a trip to Stamford, this is a wonderful find - small, quirky and very dog-friendly. My room was delightful: the bed was really comfy, the shower room worked (nice to see hooks and things to hang towels/bathrobes and the like on! So many places don't think of these details) The breakfast was absolutely fabulous - freshly squeezed... More

First time at the Lodge and it won't be the last. Excellent attention to detail. Room very clean. Everything you would need (including hot bots for the winter). Gemma very welcoming and very friendly. Breakfast first class.

As welcoming as ever. Gemma is a breath of fresh air making staying at her comfortable B&B so relaxing. We arrived at noon, and as pre arranged, was warmly greeted by Gemma, picked up our room key and went off to make the most of our afternoon. This saves waiting for a later check in. We then returned about 6... More

I stayed here very recently. I found the staff to be incredibly friendly and helpful. I have a slight disability and staff were very supportive in assisting me in dealing with a few minor difficulties around this. The room was quiet, warm and comfortable. The breakfast was superb and very"healthy". The building is it within very easy walking distance to... More

My friend and I stayed here last night as we had a party to attend in Stamford. From the minute we arrived Gemma made us feel at home, she was so welcoming and friendly. Our twin room was bright, spacious and spotlessly clean. The en suite bathroom was nicely finished and toiletries were provided. Throughout the stay fresh milk, wine... More

Top marks to Gemma for creating a welcoming home from home. One of the things that sets this apart is the initial greeting with the offer of a glass of wine or cup of tea with home made cake on arrival. Our room was at the front and had everything we needed, including ear plugs in case we were disturbed... More
