from the moment we stepped through the door every member off staff could not have been more helpful . They are a credit to you. Breakfast and evening meal in the carvery was very nice.Enjoyed a relaxing glass of wine sat on the terrace. So chilled out we did not even bother to check out the spa.Superior bedroom was large but a little dated. This will not stop us returning.

Saw a deal on secret escapes and wanted to treat my wife, sister and brother in law to a well deserved break. Meal, and a nice drink. My expectations were not very high. I wanted to tack on some extras so contacted the hotel via Facebook initially and spoke to Katie Saunders. She was great to deal with and a massive help initially. I wanted to order some flowers to both rooms with a card. This was handled amazingly well and the experience was fantastic. This really set the weekend off a treat. I also requested a private dinning room for me and my party and even this was dealt with smoothly. I was booked into the snug and this was mine for the duration of our night which was brilliant. I highly recommend doing this if you can afford it. We were previously booked into another room, however this was changed by the management, again i emailed asking for details and pictures and they were great. The room was dealt with by Georgia Bashford who again was exceptional. We found out later in the day that the hotel is family run and i have to say it feels like it. The attention to detail is great. The staff are not robots and will happily have a chat and a laugh with you. We will absolutely return here without question. The place is beautiful, the grounds are stunning and scenic. There were a handful of errors made with bills and checking in etc but honestly the staff are incredible despite these very tiny errors and this did not distract from our stay what so ever.

Fantastic afternoon tea, cheese & onion tarts and chocolate lollipops were to die for, good selection of sandwiches. Definitely do this again & thank you Georgina you looked after us all wonderfully today.

A very welcoming and well staffed hotel which was easy to find . There was plenty of free parking and well lit with cctv in place. The grounds were ample to stroll in with sufficient outside seating. A golf course was adjacent to the hotel. We had paid in advance and the signing in process was simple with the minimum of paperwork. We where offered escort to our room but declined as we were happy to find it ourselves. Reception held spare mobile leads and cables plus some emergency supplies such as a toothbrush/toothpaste which was a nice touch The room was clean and came with the means to make tea , coffee and hot chocolate with biscuits in the room. The bed was comfortable and the TV quality was good . The site is covered with Wi-fi which worked very well with no issues and free. Probably essential in today’s world of technology. ( especially any children staying 😂) Our Room (149 ) did not have any real view and there where some noisy pipes outside so we requested a room change which was immediately agreed without fuss or any noted issues . The new room was excellent and the shower was great with plenty of power. The wedding reception room was clean and larger enough. The staff despite some being young were excellent, attentive and friendly. The food was fantastic being both plentiful and hot when arrived at the various tables which impressed us all. Especially with the number of guests present. The meat was cooked to perfection and the only gripe generally mentioned was the Yorkshire puddings could have been cooked a little less 🥴 but overall well done. Taste and presentation was equally good. The bar prices were reasonable considering The venue and again the staff did there best. The evening wedding buffet was tasty and plentiful with again excellent staff . We had a great nights sleep.... eventually 🥳 and then headed to the breakfast area. Again excellent choice of a full English Breakfast or continental was available. Hot and plenty to eat. Again excellent staff. Checkout was straightforward. So a clean hotel with excellent staff who made you feel welcome and made every effort to make our stay a pleasure. Downside.... hmmmm don’t use room 149 although everyone said the other rooms fine. In some ways the hotel was dated in some areas of decor but seemed to fit in with the overall experience. It has been in the same families ownership since 1961 I believe and there are a number of other upmarket type hotels in this family run group. This hotel had a Spa which we did not have time to use but people had said it was good and clean. Not the cheapest hotel but not the most expensive. The staff should all be proud without exception for the high standards they maintained. On a personal note I think it would be nice if they offered a discount for the emergency services with presentation of a ‘Blue Light card ‘which some places now do.

We had a delightful two night stay here. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly throughout, including the reception staff, and those in the County Kitchen and the Oak Bar - nothing was too much trouble. The room was comfortable and clean. The bath was huge, and shower very powerful. The grounds were lovely to sit in and walk around, and there were plenty of places around the hotel to sit outside or inside and admire the view. We would definitely recommend staying here, and look forward to staying here again.
