Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

Moor Hall Hotel & Spa, part of the BW Premier Collection, stands out for its historic charm and cozy atmosphere, complete with festive decorations. While some guests feel that the rooms could benefit from modernization and dampness mitigation, the cleanliness and comfort are often commended. The hotel's amenities, especially the spa and culinary options, are popular among visitors for their quality. Service experiences vary, with praise for friendliness but also reports of inconsistency. The idyllic location is well-regarded, although noise during events has been a concern for some.

Beautiful grounds, rooms were nice and spacious. The Christmas decorations were lovely. Room had a little note, welcome drinks and snacks. Despite it being a twin room, had a spacious seating area and enough space for 4 of us to relax and get ready. We had a beautiful view into the gardens. The spa treatments were lovely, the staff were so attentive and looked after us really well. We wear hijab and the ladies were so accommodating. The dinner from starters, mocktails, mains and deserts was amazing. Staff ensured the food had no alcohol and attention to deal was lovely. We had a lovely breakfast and walk on the grounds All in all a lovely break and will def return and highly recommend

Afternoon tea for eight, to celebrate Grandma's birthday. Adults and three quite lively but well behaved small grandchildren. We were all treated in a caring, friendly and relaxed way by Eve and Paul. Nice tea, good afternoon, enjoyed by all.

The rooms are nice, bigger than a Premier Inn but the sofa bed isn’t very comfortable to sit on and the bed not as good as a PI! The breakfast was superb great selection of prepared fresh fruit, the English breakfast items were tasty and hot and a range of things were prepared to order, top marks for the quality of the food and the friendly service. The hotel itself is a bit of a rabbit warren and it’s impossible to get to some rooms without walking through a wedding reception. Our biggest issue was the availability of tables in the dining room. We were put into the Country Kitchen, but with only the restaurant menu available so we paid restaurant prices to sit in the area where breakfast is served, no natural light no tablecloths, no view of the grounds and no dining room ambiance. So if you book on line and want the restaurant do make sure that they have capacity. We walked past it on the way to eat and on the way back and they had four tables for two that were not occupied on either observation. Our meal was very average but we were disappointed not to be in the restaurant and so we just ate one of the basic main courses. There were other guests equally put out about this. Possibly some had hoped to have the 3 courses for £27 in the Country Kitchen (breakfast restaurant) but that wasn’t available either. If you book with the hotel the swimming pool and sauna is included if you don’t it’s £10 to use it. If you want to use it after 3:00pm at weekends you need to book it in advance but it is a lovely pool and it wasn’t busy so the system obviously works.

Ansell, from the brewing family, built his elegant Edwardian mansion in 1905 and by the early 30s it had become a hotel. A golf course was added and spacious residences arose in the environs. In the latter part of the 20th C new owners added a spa and an enlarged updated accommodation wing such that now it is an aspiring 4* star hotel and spa offering comfortable and quiet accommodation in an agreeable environment. The golf course is now a separate entity. There are two dining options, The Brasserie offers an a la carte menu with a mix of classic and edgy choices. The bar and terrace offers more informal eating options with orders placed at the bar. Breakfast is a self serve buffet in the Country Kitchen, the cooked items are well cooked and presented, the bacon is prime thick cut rasher cooked to perfection, and the fresh fruit salad was rather special. We did not use The spa and fitness centre but it seemed popular for both locals and more active guests. Staff service was consistently very good and we noticed that new staff were being trained by mentors.

After a hectic few days at Alton Towers we needed to wind down, and this was a lovely place to do so. The service especially was 100 percent, and staff catered for all our needs. Lovely bedrooms and nice personal touches added. The breakfast in the morning and dinner of the evening was gorgeous.

Had a family get-to-gether at Country Kitchen on a sunday in the carvery luncheon. Excellent food, not short on helpings. Catered for children. Excellent wine list and 1st class service. With 12 of us the bill was very reasonable too. But the quality of the chef's cooking was superb. Will definitely go again.

Great facilities and team. We had a spa day for my sisters birthday. Included was breakfast which was toast and tea or coffee. Lunch which was a main of your choice and full use of spa facilities and a top to toe massage. All team were helpful from Harriet who showed us around the spa to Paige who did my massage. My massage was amazing the pressure was great and paige made me feel well looked after. We will be back.

Had Sunday lunch in the Country Kitchen with family and couldn’t fault it! Excellent food and service and nothing to complain about. Good selection of starters and main courses and plenty of deserts to chose from .Prices were reasonable and would definitely revisit.

Outstanding service in the lounge bar by Leah and Libby as always. The setting is, as you would expect, fantastic. Living local I am a frequent visitor of both the bar and gym, and to be fair all staff are worthy of note. However, Leah and Libby are attentive, very hard working and always greet you with a smile.
