Booked here for an overnight break on our way to Cornwall but didn’t realise that there was a cricket match on so the parking at the station was closed for security reasons. There is no onsite parking. We did find a parking place and had a short walk to the hotel. We were offered a choice of a downstairs room at the front or an upstairs room at the back which we chose as it was quieter.the room was big with plenty of tea and coffee and a small bathroom and shower. We were also given a breakfast box for take with us the following morning as there is no restaurant on site although there are plenty of eating places close by. Not a bad place to stay and certainly convenient to the station.

Chosen for proximity to rail station, and a great price. I stayed in a single premier en-suite room. Recommended. Communal areas and room were fresh and clean. The little welcome back and bottled water appreciated, as was the choice and variety of hot drink ingredients, and soaps and gels. Thank you. The bed was as has been commented on rather firm - better than tired and saggy.. Without exception the manager and team were friendly, welcoming and efficient - I have rebooked for my next trip.

The location of the hotel is great, less than five minutes from the station. The staff were really helpful and friendly. We had a premium double and while the room was fine, I wouldn't say it qualified as premium being quite small with a tiny TV and some furniture that had seen better days. There weren't enough surfaces or free plugs so the kettle had to live on my small bedside table and the tea tray was on top of the hobs of the kitchenette, which didn't seem the best place. We are both tall and found the bed was too short and also quite hard, which meant combined with the noise from the bars meant I didn't really sleep. But the front desk did advise on arrival that it would be noisy being a front facing room and did offer us an alternative, however it was up two flights of stairs and with my arthritis, wasn't possible. The bathroom was fine but there was only one very small mirror quite high up and the shower holder was broken, which meant we had to shower by holding it in one hand. The plugs were also broken which was an issue for my husband trying to shave. Overall, it was a fine place for one night, well located and the staff elevated the experience. But the room wasn't really premium and the lack of dining facilities were a bit of an issue as nothing was open on Sunday before our train home, but in future we would just bring something and use the little kitchenette. The snack box was a nice idea, but I had a cheesecake yoghurt and apple, which would have been a sugar overload for breakfast. I would recommend staying here, but adjust your expectations where premium is concerned.

Nothing was too much trouble for this hotel who were kind enough to store our bags whilst we visited the cricket. Highly recommended. Would certainly come back If I needed to stay somewhere close to the centre of Taunton.

Everything needed. Sleeps five, full kitchen, lounge area with tv, large walk in shower in the only bathroom. No bath. Beds very comfortable. No restaurant onsite so room rate does not include breakfast. But each given a goody box.
