Very clean, rooms fine for the price, but not a real hotel as such. No reception, just an area in the bar. The food is quite good but as there is no separate restaurant you really feel that you are eating in a pub. In this day & age, I can't believe they are hand writing receipts! Overall v good... More

I've stayed here 3 times in the last 2 weeks and I enjoy it. Simple, clean and spacious rooms. Friendly staff and a lovely menu. Popular with locals so really does feel like a community and home from home. Well done! Breakfast is varied and cooked to order. Great value for money and well recommended

We booked the function room at short notice (Tuesday for Friday evening) for a private meal for 16 after a nearby family funeral. Meals needed pre-booking: a good menu selection and price options for 1, 2 or 3 courses. On arrival, room and table was nicely decorated, and we were immediately greeted by Brooke and 2-3 colleagues who looked after... More

Went with friends for Sunday lunch. Booked for 6 people and was given a lovely table which was not squashed in. Great choice for lunch and also a set Sunday dinner where you can choose 2/3 choices for a set price. All the dishes were lovely and the presentation was different too. The food was very tasty and the staff... More

We stayed here for one night whilst at a friend's wedding nearby. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable with interesting stone walls and doors onto a small shared lawn at the back. The Breakfast was hearty and the staff were all very friendly and attentive. Plenty of parking. Would definitely recommend.

We booked one night on our way to Scotland, and arrived after a long trip to find that the requested courtyard room had been crossed out in the book and we had been put in an upstairs - narrow steep stairs - room. The reason was that the people who stayed in the room we wanted decided to stay another... More

Payed £75 for single occupancy of a double room and found it to be excellent value. Rooms are large and modern with excellent on suite facilities. Ironing board and Iron in room always a good idea sadly missing in many establishments. Evening meal in the bar was huge. Belly pork and Yorkshire pudding, a strange combination to people outside of... More

Went to watch Leeds play Reading and stayed at this lovely hotel, room was comfy and spotlessly clean, we ate in the bar lounge Friday and Saturday night, where the food and wine were of high standard and great hospitality

A group of people from different parts of the country stayed here as we were going to a classic car meet locally. The staff were friendly and even printed out the route to the classic car meet for those who didn't have Sat Nav. The food was excellent The room was very good
