We have stayed at the Parklands twice now and never been disappointed. This hotel is in a good location to Wakefield park right next door, there is plenty of food outlets to choose from, with a Asda supermarket right across the road very handy. The owners of this hotel make you very welcome you feel right at home, so friendly... More

This is not the poshest place you'll ever stay, but it is how England was when I first started going many years ago. The inn keepers are friendly and helpful, the rooms are small, and the breakfast is filling.

I've been to this hotel on several occasions and hired a meeting room. Yvonne and her husband always make me so welcome, with free teas in a really lovely setting and atmosphere. They go out of their way to ensure that everything is exactly as I need. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough.

We recently made our tenth visit to this Hotel and were well received again. Room 10 is comfortable and is on the quieter side of the building. The hosts made us very welcome as usual and responded to our requests promptly. They now provide Continental Breakfasts served to your room - which ensures that you have plenty of time to... More

Stopped here with my wife overnight as we had a child free night! A very warm welcome from the owners who took the time to show us around the hotel. There is a bar and a guest lounge, both of which were very well kept. We were also given details of where to go in the locality for services, restaurants,... More

Booked room only. Well located within walking distance to Wakefield City centre. Good starting point for the Westgate Run - beer drinkers will understand. Room was clean, bathroom very clean and bed very comfortable. Car parking at rear. Host welcoming - good service. Happy to recommend.

Arrived quite late at what looked like a flop house, and was welcomed by Yvonne who I think owns the place. She was very helpful and could not have been friendlier. The positives finished after than, the room was dated and quite grubby, and although when I arrived at about 8:30pm on a freezing night, by about 10 the heating... More

This is a friendly, family run hotel that is reasonably priced for a traveller on a budget e.g £40 per night. The rooms I stayed in during the autumn of 2014 were small but comfortable and, if you ask for a room at the back, fairly quiet. Breakfast can be provided and the owners don't object to guests bringing take-aways... More

I arrived very late and was welcomed and taken to my room. The room & bathroom was spacious and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. My room was on the main road and seemed to get quite busy so be aware if you are looking to sleep in in the morning. There is no on site restaurant but there are plenty... More
