On our approach to the hotel, we were a bit underwhelmed and it looked as if it needed a bit of an update, however, it is not without its charm! The room was in-line with expectations based on the price, the food was good, there was WiFi available and the hotel itself had an interesting history. Then there's the staff.......these...

Quite possible the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Filthy room with rubbish under the beds, spiders and spider webs everywhere. No room service despite 24hr claim. Place was deserted and I can see why. Dirty and awful place avoid if you can.

So we booked this as a stopping point on a long journey from wales to Newcastle. Lots of history about the place was nice to have a feel for it. Rooms were ok, clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable and bedding spotless. These are not modern rooms but would expect this in old barracks so I think they should...

I stayed here as part of a national holiday trip. Although not everyone's cup of tea we thought the hotel had great character. Full of history with its own mini museum. The staff were excellent from start to finish. Greeted at reception by a smiling gentleman ( sorry didn't get names ) and nothing was too much trouble. 3 course...

The Hotel was clean and tidy. The food was very nice and hot. They also have a museum inside the hotel all about an air force man, which we found very interesting. The hotel is I believe the old officers mess and although it is next to the airport it was very quiet.

Comfy beds although the single beds did feel smaller than a standard. Rooms are clean. Take a hairdryer as the one on the wall in the bathroom is no use to anybody. Took me 20 min to dry my hair when normally takes 5!! Food was average. Breakfast did not look appealing everything floating in lots of water. I opted...

It was avarage, room was ok, egg tasted funny, not much cooked breakfast options, staff were nice. There was free wifi but needs more plug sockets in the room as there were only two. It's in a ok location near the hospital which is why we were there, also near airport, could do with a little TLC, 6/10

This hotel is comfortable with helpful staff, a five minute walk to the terminal and offers holiday parking which is far cheaper than the airport car park. If you are heading for the 6 a.m. flight to Amsterdam, it's perfect.

Visited today for the Santa Sunday (carvery meal, a magician, disco and visit from Santa). The food was lovely, the beef was beautiful and cooked to perfection, and the profiteroles were in my sons words 'the best thing he's ever eaten'. The staff are so friendly and attentive, you feel really looked after here. Prices are more than reasonable too.
