Don't expect all the trimmings of The Ritz. You get what you pay for and this was very reasonably priced. That said, the room was very hot and stuffy and despite closing the window at bedtime we had to open it up due to stuffiness of room. Given that we were facing onto a busy main road - even through... Wanted a room only for one night and this was just the ticket. We like a room above ground floor so we can have the windows open we was given one on the ground floor. Not a problem they changed our room straight away without a fuss. Rooms are clean and there is tea making facilities.

Paying £40 per room we expected less than what we got. Yes the rooms are dated but they are clean and tea/coffee making facilities were provided. The hairdryer was broken, the bathroom could have done with an update and the radiator was on full and couldn't switch off but it didn't spoil our stay one bit. Convenient for where we... More

Certainly not the Ritz, but for the price you pay for the rooms its not bad, could do with a little updating, and some repair work, unfortunately lift was out of order when we were there, and carpet coming loose on the stairs up to our room. But it was clean, room was spacious. Really only thing I could complain... More

I stayed here a good few times during my six weeks visit to the UK, using it as a jump of point for visits to Edinburgh, and area's surrounding Darlington. It is fantastic value for money, May not be the Ritz but its very clean, the staff very helpful, And though you eat next door the food is good and... More

We've stayed here several times before. The place just seems to have gone too far downhill now. I know it's cheap but, you would expect an extractor in the bathroom that worked. You may also expect a towel rail that would heat up but it didn't. The bathroom tiles were cracked, there was one minuscule piece of soap and no... More

Been here many a time but first time stayed. Got family room (single and double beds). Room was a good size. Wardrobe eeerrr hmmm hanging space. If you are a light sleeper the noise of the traffic will keep you awake so have a good drink in the pub next door. Windows opened to let in some air. Beds not... More

What can I say but it reminded me of an old peoples home it was dark with old furnishings and a plastic covered easy chair even the bed had a plastic mattress. It's a very budget hotel n the car park reflected that it's a contractors hotel with white vans parked up. Would never go back although the pub next... More

Have stayed here a couple of times. The price is ridiculously low, the rooms are good and the staff are helpful. You have to eat next door, but that's not too much of a problem. I've paid a lot more for a lot less.
