We were staying at Woodland Terrace, the house was nice and clean. Mo who took care of us, was really friendly and she made a really good breakfast. She even gave us a ride to the railway station and to the bus station when we were travelling on the countryside.

Booked 2 night stay here for friends wedding. Greeted at door by friendly-ish woman who wasn't quite sure if I was booked in as they were so busy (booked it months ago). No reception so was taken through to the kitchen, booking was discovered and paid in cash upfront. Room upstairs was on middle floor, decor was very old fashioned,...

We recently had to cancel our reservation at Trudy's, as the show we had intended to see in Darlington was cancelled. Even though this was at quite short notice, Trudy generously gave us a full refund very promptly.

So friendly and just like home. Deceptively small frontage but once through the door it keeps going- just like the Tardis. Various original Victorian features and immaculate throughout. Stayed here in 2 rooms. Room 1. A huge attic room with dormers- true bliss- kind of divided in two by the roof eaves which you will need to slightly duck to...

The family room in the attic has two single beds and a double as well as two large sofas. You have the whole floor to yourself with the bathroom on the other half of the attic. Very quiet at night. Cooked breakfasts are great - Trudy can't do enough for you! Only minor snag is that if you drive here...

Trudy's Guest house is one of the most welcoming places that my wife and I have stayed at in a long time. We were walking the Teesdale Way and arrived at Trudy's tired and thirsty and we were made to feel at home straightway and after being take to our room given a cup of tea in the garden. The...
