A group of us meet there every year for a conference. The location is within 1 minute walk (100m) of Darlington railway station. The Victorian/Edwardian building is showing its age and is in need of some serious TLC (tender loving care). Although everything was clean enough, it has a run down and rather shabby atmosphere. The toilets were smelly. The...

My luggage was heavy so staying next to the train station was important. And this hotel is nearly in the station. I walked in without reservation and got a very good rate 40 pounds including breakfast. Room is OK if you want it just for sleep. Wifi is available only in the lobby because the "router" is on the reception...

The Coachman was once an amazing building and interior but now somewhat faded. This didn't detract from the excellent service, spotless room and amazing breakfast. Couldn't have been more helpful and brilliant value for money

Booked 2 double rooms as a base for the purpose of taking part in The Great North Run. Only a 2 min walk from the main train station, yet not a single train...

Having looked at other reviews I was a little apprehensive about booking into this hotel but I wanted somewhere close to the station. When I entered the hotel I was greeted by a smell of fresh flowers and a lovely lady who showed me the types of rooms available to see which would be suitable for me. The room I...
