I had to find a place to stay overnight in Poole with my dog and this came up. The staff were nice, the decor is not spectacular - a little outdated - but there is nothing wrong with it and my room was clean and spacious, with a good sized bathroom. They provide a very nice brand of soap, shampoo,...

Overnight business stay. Booking process was simple, welcome was warm, room was a little tired in terms of decoration but bed was comfortable with good quality linen and towels. Restaurant for meals and breakfast was light and bright with the sun blaring through the windows. Service was good at both evening meal and breakfast and like other reviews..... not quite...

We visited the Salterns around 3 weeks ago to enquire about a wedding ceremony and celebrations. The very helpful man showed us around and gave information regarding the rooms, ceremony and so on. He showed us the complimentary bedroom for the bride and groom, which was 'very tired' at best. During the 'tour' (which was unannounced and not pre-arranged), he...

We only stayed at this hotel as it was the venue for a party we were attending. They have tried hard to make the public areas smart, but you don’t have to look to hard to see the remnants of many half hearted refurbishments probably going back 40 years or so, in parts it was looking dated. The restaurant was...

The manager Louise was amazing , nothing was to much trouble. Everything was moved to suit us. The food was excellent. The staff very helpful & lovely. It was very good value too. We would strongly recommend. Our room had stunning views across to Sandbanks.

Sadly to...

After searching for places to go for a New Year's Eve meal and party my wife and I plumped again for the Salterns. We went for their Valentine's Gala dinner last February and had a good time so we decided to come here for their New Tear's eve Gala night. It was for a gala meal of 4 set courses...

We visited Salterns Hotel for our Christmas Dinner with work colleagues. Standard 3-course meal (soup, turkey, pudding) with disco for a rather steep £32.50. What a great disappointment! I understand that group evenings may be difficult to cater but, if the establishment cannot offer good quality and value then they really should not arrange such events and stay with their...

I booked a night stay for my sister and nephew as a present for her birthday and for a beautifully located hotel it certainly requires some love and attention. We checked in and were welcomed adequately. The reception was clean and presentable, the receptionist was friendly and dealt with our booking fairly quickly. When entering the room it was apparent...

We found our room clean and tidy and the views of the harbour were great. In fact we have no complaits about the room or bathroom. Our breakfasts were served on stone cold plates the first day, and this meant our meal was cold. The next day I asked if the plates could warned and this was done, however on...
