I visited the Salterns Hotel with my parents for a week from the 16th July to the 23rd and we had a lovely stay. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, upon arrival once we had checked in we were shown to our rooms and they were lovely and very spacious, our rooms were twin rooms overlooking the harbour.... We got married here, and the whole experience was brilliant. You couldn't ask for a better venue, and the people working for the hotel couldn't have done more for us. They supported us all the way through the planning, and the running of the day was faultless. We were lucky enough to be married outside, overlooking the marina and Poole... More

We stayed here for two nights, in order to attend a friend's wedding. We arrived around 9pm and first impressions were not good, so we were initially quite worried about how the stay would go. Upon arrival, there was a very noisy party going on in the function room with lots of drunk youngsters running in adopt of reception, and... More

Lovely view over harbour nice food however the rooms are like going back in time shower well I felt I was under a watering can terrible the TV was like a portable no hair dryer so bring your own ..... The rooms definitely need modernising...... The lighting was poor . The curtains just about on the rails but don't meet... More

From booking in to leaving a good experience with friendly attentive staff. Food was excellent. Rooms very clean. Nice views. Only downside was no lift hence overall rating not 5. Lovely outdoor garden with plenty to see as located in a Marina. Despite a wedding reception taking place there was no indication of it in the rest of the hotel... More

Staff were excellent - in particular the receptionist and the waitress in the bistro. Both were helpful, efficient and pleasant. The room and evening meal were good our only wish would have been for better weather so that we could have taken advantage of the outside terrace and garden for an aperitif ! Would visit again.

We had booked for one night through Booking.com and were upgraded on arrival to room 103 overlooking the harbour. The room was spacious and clean but I have two minor quibbles. One pair of curtains did not meet in the middle so there was light seeping into the room in the morning. I am in favour of energy-saving light bulbs... More

Very relaxing stay in a lovely hotel. Very friendly helpful staff - nothing was too much trouble. Comfortable and clean rooms and wonderful location. Large selection of foods for breakfast - cooked and continental - endless coffee and tea!! Ample parking. Will definitely be going again.

Spent a week staying here, longest week of my life. Friendly staff, but a hotel that sums up everything that is wrong with small independent hotels. Tired fixtures and fittings, shabby rooms and noisy. Had to move rooms twice during the week due to noise and disruption. Seems popular for chavvy weddings and has a good bar with friendly staff.... We have just stayed at this hotel for two nights and the view from our room was amazing! Ok so it's a little tired in places but the staff were very good and the food was too. We will definitely be returning.
