This is my first and by no means the last time I stay at the Abbington. From the moment I came into the hotel I felt at home, its that kind of place. I hope they dont mind me saying that its an old fashion B&B/hotel, and thats a positive, I live a couple of weeks a month traveling around... More

This is a stereotypical B&B where I stayed for a single night in a small but entirely adequate "single" room, which had everything you could possibly need. It was clean with an en-suite and included a number of toiletries etc. that you struggle to find in some larger UK-wide accommodation providers. The staff were pleasant and friendly and the breakfast... More

My partner and I stayed here for one night only during the bank holiday weekend, whilst visiting family nearby. Unfortunately I was recovering from a broken foot and was still using crutches. I was relieved when we found our room was on the ground floor. We had booked a twin room and though tastefully furnished this room was far too... More

Stayed here for one evening after a trip to Knebworth House. The hotel is a typical old fashioned English B & B with a window hatch for reception as you enter. A lady (I'm assuming the owner) smiled and said "name" when we arrived...no hello/good afternoon. Told us we were staying in the 'bungalow' (which is a separate building at... More

Since the hotel is so close to a main road we were very pleased that we slept well in a quiet room at the back of the hotel. The breakfast was very comprehensive and there is plenty of choice to challenge brain cells first thing! Staff were friendly The room we stayed in was compact with enough space for us... More

I had a really good night sleep, lovely bed. Bedding Clean, room clean and fresh. Breakfast, a really excellent choice of fruit, cereal, pastries, cooked english breakfast, even strawberries. Lovely area to sit outside. Bar. What more could the overnight - or for a few days - traveller need. Even supplied toothbrush, toothpaste and disposable razor with shaving cream. If up... More

Lovely small family run hotel, staff make the stay very welcoming. Wednesday is roast dinner night and would recommend the Lamb shank. Yum yum. Wi-Fi OK, rooms OK and beds comfy. Carpark just big enough and even a small bar with Sky TV.

The pictures say it all .... 1. The wallpaper was hanging off the walls the whole way down the corridors - very unsightly, but gives an indication of the level of care that the owners have. 2. Blood stains on the chair... nice! 3. An old, dried out contact lense that I found inside the sheets - pretty sick! Oh,... More

As a seasoned traveller I pride myself on having used Trip Advisor and Booking.com to good effect over the last few years when researching accommodation, restaurants and other amenities. Nine times out of ten I seem to get it right. On arrival, and on the surface, the Abbington looks and has the feel of a good old traditional British B... More
