Extremely friendly & helpful host & staff. Ideal location for shopping in the Town Centre. Great choices at breakfast, fresh fruit. fruit juices, cereals, cheese, yoghurt, porridge, cooked english breakfast ( turkey bacon though), toast etc. Tea, coffee or fruit/herb teas. Hospitality offered makes up for other issues at this hotel. Parking on forecourt a bit tight for access as...

Pay on arrival. "Receptionist" pleasant enough but does not do much. Very shabby (except for dining room which seems to have been the only paint re-painted room since 1972). Sheets clean and crisp however and single room quiet. The "ensuite" was shabby with mold on the ceiling. Tatty decoration with paper falling from ceiling and unfilled screw holes on the...

I was looking for an inexpensive hotel for one night. The Carlton was the cheapest I could find and included breakfast. There was off road parking right outside the hotel. The receptionist was very helpful. My room was a single room but quite large and the bed was comfortable. The room was clean but maybe a little tired. Plenty of...

I can only agree with much of what has already been written. On arrival we were unable to park onsite as the front five places were full and I was unable to access the narrow alley down to the small rear carpark. Street parking is tricky before 6pm. I waited 5 minutes to get served by the charming young man...

This hotel is worse then any hostel I have stayed in. I think £20 a night would be a fair price - we paid £49 for a twin room which was awful. The walls and ceilings carried sound and could hear people going to the toilet in the night which was horrible. Single glazing on windows which looked onto busy...

We stayed as long as it took to look at the room...turned and got an immediate refund. Filthy toilet in room, worn carpets (even in main reception). 25 layers of paint. Even the bed linen had pain on it! We should have realised something was wrong when the manager said 'there aren't any other rooms in town'. We went to...

we had booked a b&b in Hadleigh for a family 'do' some months ago, only for them to call us 3 weeks before the event to say they were closing their business. So we had to look elsewhere, and given it is school hols AND this is a tourist area AND we didn't want to pay £220 per room per...

I stayed in this hotel and found it on the wrong side of average. I stayed here for a one night stay to access the train station early in the morning. The room was very small and on the front of the bedroom door was a plastic box with a key inside. Our room was one of the designated fire...

Upon arrival I was directed through a narrow arch way to a rear parking area, which no other car had used and I could see why. The area was dirty and general debris lying around in a small turning area. The front of the 'Hotel' was shabby, run down and in need of painting/structural repairs. Whilst the owners appeared helpful,...

I stayed here overnight for a business trip last month. The room size is fine, and I had no qualms about the room itself, or the location- the only issue was the bed and pillows. I was so uncomfortable that I couldn't sleep, and the pillows were rock-hard. I like a firm mattress, but it was like sleeping on a...
