We were given our table which fortunately we had booked as it was a busy saturday lunch time. The two guys had the large steaks and they were huge. They ate them though and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the scampi which was delicious. If there was going to be a negative i would say the tables were tight but... More

Arrived on a Saturday evening for a meal out with friends. It should have been lovely, but unfortunately it wasn't. The staff with the exception of one, were offhand, bored, rude, disinterested. We were not offered menus, drinks or asked if our food was ok. It felt like they just wanted us to eat quickly and then leave. The house... More

The food was lovely, can't fault it at all, homemade, piping hot and plenty of it. We visited on a December weekday lunch time and it was quiet when we arrived (but got very busy as time went on). Now, I know there is nothing worse than an 'all singing all dancing' over the top welcome, but what we got... More

If you want a traditional old style pub experience this is your place. Very generous Sunday lunch portion too! Something for everyone on the menu. Cosy atmosphere. Throughly enjoyable experience! Would visit again.

I am sure there is a market for this kind of offering but it's not for me. I like to be positive and objective so there is little I can say. The food and wine are cheap but I won't return. The food is a mix of homely and convenience. Neither worked for me.

Myself and my disabled partner ordered a meal and drink. We were only a few minutes at the table when my partner who hadn't touched her drink, discovered a fly in her glass of sweet wine. I went to the bar, pointed out there was a fly in my partners glass of sweet wine. The bartender smiling, said why should... More

Lovely friendly inn. Brilliant food, good prices have visited area on a few occasions & have nearly always stopped here for a meal. They even sell lemon lime & angostura bitters. Not many places sell this now so a absolute bonus, really nice drink. Would always visit if in area.

We have just returned from here after a 2 night stay. The room was small but had everything to make your stay worthwhile. An ensuite with a fantastic shower, freeview TV and tea making facilities. The breakfast was excellent. You could have a full English or cereal. On our last day we asked for scrambled egg on toast so they... More

Went to this old fashioned pub with my partner for a dinner on Friday night as just moved into the area. It's a small traditional pub, ok for a little drink. It's very busy and noisy. All the tables were reserved so we ended up sitting near the bar on a low table which isn't ideal for eating. My partner... More
