A few drinks on a Friday evening, the bar was busy with a large crowd of workers from the railway station opposite. This made for a lively atmosphere which was nice and friendly. The bar staff were friendly and coped well with a busy bar. The bar is done out nice and modern with comfy seating. Drinks a bit pricey...

Do not be confused by the downstairs refurb...the client experience if you are staying here isn't great. It's a gastro football pub which will not sell residents alcohol during the days or evenings of a football match. Redeemed by the speed of service and quality of breakfast the following morning. Room quality is below standard.

I had the misfortune of staying at this ridiculously bad hotel recently and all I can say is avoid at great lengths, stay anywhere else even a park bench would be better. First impressions the bar restaurant area has had a general makeover and is great but the toilets although very clean are in bad need of a refurb. Toilet...

Popped in whilst waiting for train from Ipswich main line station, which is directly opposite. Good decor, decent range of ales etc. Friendly staff. Clean & tidy. Beware though...it is an 'away fan' football pub on match days.

We had a lot of fun here. Having vowed never to return we had opportunity to re-visit. Although we didn't eat the array of gins with delicious accompaniments went down a treat. Thanks for a great afternoon. Hope to see you again soon. Ps only a 4 star as I heard the gents loo was not very pleasant....

Met a group of friends here for drinks. Impressed by the great selection of Gins available. Staff friendly and helpful. Very nice decor - it looks as though it has been made over recently. Definitely a nice place for a drink and opposite the station which is ideal for those waiting to leave or be picked up.

Looks good from the outside, inside also has nice bar area. A bit on the pricey side £4 a pint of San Miguel. Should attract more trade being opposite the train station. I suppose what puts people off is only three others were in the bar and all looked absolutely hammered. It was 5 in the afternoon! I didn't hang...

Booked in here for a week via Expedia.com but stayed 30 minutes - just long enough to contact Expedia customer service to cancel and request a refund. The hotel describes itself as a riverside inn. However there is nothing quaint or attractive about the setting. It's the rear of the establishment which over looks the river. There is no seating...

Disgusting conditions in our room and I could see that another empty room was just as bad. Horrible place. Even the breakfast was poor and the staff way below average so one star is more than enough. £60 was way too much for a tatty place like this. Awful. Just don't bother.
