After enjoying our previous visit St Hilarys earlier in the year we decided to go back.
We were not disappointed as the break was as good as the last one.
Clean Rooms and a great breakfast all with a pleasant atmosphere, all added to a fantastic few days break.
Keep it up and look forward to next time.

I wasn't going to write this but now feel compelled to. I recently stayed here with a friend for 3 nights when visiting family. It didn't start well when having had to ring the doorbell twice I was met by the curt owner stating it was a climb up the stairs to answer the door. It's run by a couple who don't like to smile and who gave the impression they've had a long hard summer. The good points, it's away from the centre and the beds were comfy and the linen clean. The bad points - despite knowing my friend and I very staying together but had separate rooms they decided, when cleaning my room to knock on my friends door searching for a missing cup and glass from my room. Yes we had shared a cup of tea and a drink in her room so what, why on earth would you search for these so called 'missing' items, knowing full well where they would be it's beyond ridiculous. Shortly after I returned them to my room as requested (as my friend was in the middle of getting dressed when they knocked) we were then told there was a blocked drain in the room next to hers so they needed access to put drain liquid down her shower. Utter rubbish my friend didn't want her room cleaning, they were suspicious because of that (and were heard saying that) and wanted access. We are 53 and 40 year old professional woman and I have my own consultancy business what on earth did they think we were actually doing in the bedroom!! The breakfast was ok but despite claiming I ate every bit I certainly didn't, I left the sausage the first morning as it was pink and as such asked not to have one the next day, I wasn't asked how I like my bacon and as such it wasn't cooked enough for me, I refused toast as it was stodgy cheap bread that was hardly toasted and I didn't eat on the last morning because I really couldn't face it again. The door to my bedroom had to be pulled hard to close it, the 'Seaview' was spoilt because of the continual condensation to the point that the owners took it upon themselves to open my window on day 2 without asking me which meant I came back in the early evening to a very cold room. The photo with this review was taken when stood in the shower with the door closed, which clearly shows a stark lack of appropriate cleaning. No I didn't make a fuss but having had a stressful few days with a family crisis that's the last thing I wanted to do, but I should have. As for not being able to get listed building consent for double glazed windows, I own a Town Planning Consultancy and you certainly can, but they are very expensive as they have to be made to specific specifications by specialist companies. As for not paying the bar bill the unopened cider cans were left in my room on our departure so that's utter rubbish. We paid £447 for the accommodation and I've stayed in much better and cheaper options in Llandudno over the years. So St Hilary take note, respect your customers privacy, rethink your cleaning regimes, buy more expensive bread and act like you enjoy your work after all your are in the hospitality business.

Breakfast crap
For some reason they wanted to come into my room, started with a knock on the door with we are missing some glasses, my friend assisted and then there was supposedly drain thing going on in my shower, I heard the woman ( owner )saying something is suspicious and so on.
I believe that when you go on holiday you have a choice so NO I didn’t need my room cleaned and I’m most certainly not going for a crap breakfast that buy the most cheapest toast that you can’t swallow as it just Dough literally.
They are an odd couple, not really friendly, just nosey and have no personality ( either )
I didn’t make a fuss but I should have.
This is not a 4 star unless it was done 10 years ago lol.....
As I’m from Llandudno worked in the best places I have honestly never seen such a weird couple running a B&B with so much suspicious towards there customers.
As for the fact the windows are permanently steamed up and there pathetic excuses about how they can’t get planning permission that’s a blatant lie as I I’m very aware of planning law and it comes down to you being cheap and clearly can’t afford to do it, you would have to pay me to come back, a nice friendly hotel worth a visit is the pebbles hotel, it has class and isn’t a wanna be 4 star.
Don’t bother replying I don’t deal with amateurs cupcakes :-)

When first reading this review we were quite upset initially as the comments are quite rude and personal. Also, we strive to make all of our guests welcome and indeed have an impeccable record on many counts, including cleanliness, friendliness and the quality of our breakfast, as any discerning review reader will see when reading our reviews on Tripadvisor and many other review sites. Indeed, just a month ago we received a nation wide award from Hotel.com in the category group 'Best Loved by Guests' which any of our guests can see on display in our hall way, where there is also a certificate of excellence from Tripadvisor for 2018. So, on reflection, we put this one bad review into perspective, and didn't let it upset us. However, as you never brought any of your concerns to our attention when here, we will address them now. Your friend checked in alone and after showing her to the room, I (Tricia) returned to help you with your luggage, but you refused help. On one occasion I came outside to ask you if you were sure you wouldn't like something for breakfast, even though it was past our breakfast service time. - I think most would consider this quite friendly and helpful. I never exchanged much other conversation with you as I didn't see you much, mostly because you didn't come in for breakfast, which is when I see and chat to most guests. You never ate any breakfast, so I'm not sure how you can possibly comment on the quality of it, but your friend cleared her plate of full English every day: our bread is Kingsmill, which I believe is quite a popular brand. We can assure readers of this review that we are not allowed to replace windows with double glazed and many properties along the front have requested this, (including ours, by the former owners) and been refused. There are some B and B owners who have ignored the rules regarding double glazing in sea front properties, and five years ago were requested to put the original style windows back, at great cost to themselves, which anyone with an interest can look up on line, on the Conwy Planning department site. We are 4 star rated by the AA, the Welsh tourist board, and many booking sites. The AA review this annually. Finaly, as if to add insult to injury, you left without paying your bar bill.

Stayed for long weekend early November. Everything was perfect. David and Tricia are extremely friendly hosts. The entire guesthouse is always spotlessly clean. Rooms are comfortable and its worth paying the little extra for rooms with a sea view. Breakfasts are excellent with plenty of choice and set you up for the day. I wouldn't ever consider booking anywhere else when staying in Llandudno

I'm not sure, there is no lift and I believe all the rooms are upstairs but I may be wrong, it's also quite a long walk to the centre of town, It may not be suitable, but please check with the owners if you still fancy it

Very much walkable - Venue Cymru is nearer to St Hilary' s than it is to the centre of Llandudno itself. No more than 5 minutes walk I would say
