We stayed for 3 nights in the Engine Room Cottage Suite. It was comfortable, private & totally relaxing. The Hotel staff where amazing, welcoming, attentive & very professional. The dining was formal, the food was imaginative & well presented. We wandered around the beautiful gardens & marvelled at the views. A must for a relaxing break.

This house is full of history and is a beautiful setting to visit North Wales. Its location enables you to visit so much in a short time. More attention could have been given to our arrival with more readily available help with bags especially as there are many stairs and no lifts. We liked our room (room 12) and felt... More

Attended and stayed overnight for son's wedding. Absolutely beautiful venue inside with gorgeous views. Spoilt for choice for breakfast and outstanding wedding meal. Can't wait to return. Nothing negative whatsoever.

The hotel could pride itself on its welcome alone, but it is all first class. Our bedroom up the winding stairs of the old part of the house was comfortable, the night's sleep excellent, the shower powerful, although the bathroom was not spacious.

It's a charming large manor house (variously 16th to 19th centuries) with several, adjacent multi-room cottages; we enjoyed Mill Cottage. The gardens were delightful (and we'd already seen some of the best on offer in England and Wales), providing a long range view of Conwy Castle. Great meals supplied too.

This hotel is just like going back in time in terms of ambiance of the location and service from yesteryear. Surrounded by fields near Llandudno the hotel features many really old paintings and furniture,

A wonderful stay in a truly heritage property. We were on a family trip and had two cottage rooms which had a lot of character to them. While I did not see the rooms in the main building, seeing the quality of the public areas I'm sure these rooms too would be great. Lovely views over the surrounding countryside and... More

It took a birthday to get us to return to Bodysgallen Hall. Last time was in a stormy November. This hotel is part of the Historic Hall Hotel group, owned by the National Trust. Being a grade one protected building no not expect modern designs and features. Public rooms are original and reflect their age. Bedrooms are something else, beautifully... More

This is a lovely historic property with plenty of character. We had a room in the main house with views of Snowdonia - well worth the additional premium. Food is excellent and cooked to perfection. My only criticism is that the menu choice is rather limited and our short break also included an evening when an only an even simpler... More

Over the last few years we have visited Bodysgallen Hall for lunch or afternoon tea and were always impressed with the standard of food and the wonderful atmosphere in the reception rooms. Last week we decided to have an overnight stay and on arrival were delighted when told we had been given a room upgrade. The room was beautifully furnished... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Standing in over 200 acres of its own parkland to the south of Llandudno with spectacular views of Snowdonia and Conwy Castle. Believed to have 13th century origins, Bodysgallen Hall provides all that is best in country house hospitality. Beautiful gardens include a rare 17th century parterre of box hedges filled with sweet-scented herbs, a rockery with a cascade, a walled rose garden, and several follies. Historic House Hotels Ltd bought and rescued the house from a dilapidated state in 1981 and restored the 17th century house and gardens. In September 2008 Historic House Hotels Ltd and its interest in all its properties were given to the National Trust to ensure their long-term protection, with all profits benefiting the houses and the charity. The 15 extremely comfortable bedrooms in the Main Hall offer several different room types, including the four elegant principal suites. Each bedroom is individually decorated and furnished with antique furniture, paintings and prints, enjoying glorious views of Bodysgallen's parkland or gardens, with some rooms having further reaching views of Conwy Castle or the distant Mountains of Snowdonia. There are 16 cottage suites with picturesque names like The Smithy, Box Cottage and Pineapple Lodge, are situated in the grounds, and provide accommodation for guests preferring a greater degree of privacy. Many cottages enjoy their own private gardens and some are in close proximity to the Bodysgallen Spa. All are charming and delightful. The Dining Room in the main hall has been awarded three rosettes for fine dining by the AA - the only restaurant in Llandudno to be awarded such - and offers imaginative meals prepared from fresh local produce and complemented by fine wine, and overlooks the gardens and has been recognised as one of the best places for Sunday Lunch in the United Kingdom by The Observer newspaper. The Spa is approached by a short walk through the garden or by a private road. Converted from an original stone built farm it contains a magnificent 50' swimming pool edged with comfortable reclining chairs, whirlpool spa bath, steam room and sauna. A superb gymnasium has all the latest technologically advanced equipment, suitable for all ranges of fitness. A comfortable Club Room is a place where guests and members can relax and enjoy drinks and light meals, which in the summer are also served on the terrace. Residential guests have full use of the Bodysgallen Spa.Bodysgallen Hall is situated about 2 miles south from Llandudno and the North Wales coast. It is surrounded by over 200 acres of beautiful gardens and wooded parkland. Bodysgallen Hall has magnificent views of Snowdonia, and Conwy Castle. It's the perfect setting for a relaxed holiday at all times of the year. The hotel is ideally placed for visiting the many historic castles and stately homes in North Wales as well as the famous golf courses that adorn the coastline. ... more   less
