#2 of 41 hotels in Eastbourne
Travelers' Choice
We are a family run hotel with an excellent location on the seafront of Eastbourne looking across the bay towards the Pier. We are only a short walk to the pier, town and amenities. There is a bus stop directly opposite the hotel with services running along the coast and into town. We have a thriving Lunch Club with top class speakers; regular Jazz Lunches, Cabaret Dinners, and a Pudding & Wine Club. We are the perfect hotel for any occasion whether it be just a lunch or staying with us in one of our excellent bedrooms.

This trip was booked for March 2020 but due to the ‘Zombie Apocalypse’ we finally got there in September 2021. When I look back it turns out we’ve been to this hotel at least 10 times in the last 14 years, so they must be doing something right! One of the things I particularly noticed was the familiar faces amongst the staff. This sort of staff retention must mean that they are happy here too? We like to keep a low profile when we’re here and service is adapted to suit the demanding and not demanding residents! I witnessed quite demanding customers who were adeptly handled. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for the staff. Dinner was lovely, as always, but 2 courses is a bit too much for me! Breakfast was great, you can tell they use quality ingredients. I liked the fact that the bar is for residents only in the evening, which means you’re guaranteed a seat at the bar.

We have visited this hotel at least once a month since lockdown was lifted. The Sunday lunch with Duality singing in the background is an experience that takes me back in time to professionally run hotels with well trained and knowledgeable staff supervised and guided at all levels up to the owners. None of the overpriced faddy food with minute portions and ridiculous prices but good local food well cooked and presented with more than adequate portions not the usual overhandled small blob of something unidentifiable in a pool of slime covered in flowers and costing a fortune. There is a good wine list and I find this place to be of a consistently high standard. We attended a lunch club with speaker and the food for what look like about 100 people came out hot and quickly. Great experience.

We went for the first time, for a 3 course lunch today to see Sean Williamson. We had a great time. I am a coeliac and also lactose intolerant. They couldn’t have been more attentive. The food was very tasty and I have no problem recommending this place to eat to anyone who has food allergies.

We had a wonderful stay at The Langham Hotel, with very attentive service from all of the staff. The room was well presented and very clean and with lovely extras, such as dressing gown and slippers. The food and drinks are a very high standard. We would highly recommend this hotel.
