We had a lovely 3 night stay in room 16, overlooking the theatres and the tennis centre. We had a very friendly welcome, with complimentary tea and pastries on arrival. The room was right at the top of the house, so we were feeling much fitter after 3 days of climbing the stairs! There is a lift, though, so don't... More

Basically ok but frankly for the same money we could have done better. Smallish twin beds but several minor frustrations in the room such as a tiny basin too small to get your head over and a tv that you couldn't see from both single beds! Only one window opened (others were painted shut) but this was over one bed... More

Thank you for your review. So pleased that you enjoyed our position and breakfast. So readers are aware you paid just under £50 per head inc. breakfast and VAT over a premium weekend in August. We are sorry you were disappointed with the room. This room is a standard twin and clearly depicted on the Travel Agent website you booked... More

A last minute booking for 7 of us visiting the theatre, right round the corner. Rooms were lovely and clean, staff friendly and helpful and on hand for any questions. Having a bar available was very useful as we met for pre- dinner drinks with some friends. The honesty bar was a nice touch when reception wasn't manned. I couldn't... More

This beautiful oldy worldy guesthouse is one street off the gorgeous seafront of Eastbourne - the driest place in UK apparently - it is opposite the beautiful Theatre building and the famous Tennis Club with a lovely pub The Buccaneer nearby with lovely staff overlooking the tennis courts. The downs are in the background and we had a view from... More

We usually stay in 4* hotels which are completely different to 4* guesthouses which is what The Mowbray is. We was a little disappointed by the standard of cleaning in our bathroom but as soon as this was pointed out to the Owner Darren he arranged a deep clean. He explained that the demand for rooms sometimes causes them to... More

Thank you for your review. We are sorry that you found the level of cleanliness disappointing and I am pleased to have dealt with the issues you highlighted, the staff members responsible have been appropriately reprimanded. As explained owing to the high turnaround these days and the demands of guests (wanting late check outs and early check ins) nooks and... More

Just come back from a weekend away at this lovely, friendly guesthouse (5th - 7th August). Had an excellent couple of days staying here. We had a superior quad room (room 16) which was gorgeous - very spacious, clean and comfortable. Lots of nice little touches like a good hairdryer, coffee machine, biscuits, fruit, water and sweets. The seating area... More

Thank you for a lovely stay, it was a first for our foster daughters friend. They were both so excited about their room with a huge shower and lovely view, the pillow menu is a great touch. Beds supper comfy, great breakfast. A bit warm, but we asked for a fan which helped.
