First time staying at this property and it was a good choice to book their Red Level rooms, where you get complimentary drinks in the mini bar. The Room was comfortable with great views. We got a welcome cava bottle to the to the room. The room service we used wasn't really good. It too ,long time to serve and the food wasn't serve warm. But it was perhaps due to the beginning of the season. All in all it was a wonderful stay.

We stayed in this hotel after it reopened for 2 days after Mallorca was declared no longer a high risk covid zone. First time staying at this property and it was a good thing we read the reviews and booked their Red Level rooms, where you get complimentary drinks in the mini bar, access to their lounge, Clarins products in the room and some other perks. The hotel is well maintained but it did show signs of age in terms of the decor, furniture and layout. The service this time was quite unstable and not quite together yet as the service improved towards the last day of our stay. Some staff were also new and didn't really know how to answer questions or some seemed to be sure of things themselves. Considering the covid issues, we did notice that housekeeping did come around to clean and disinfect our room in between housekeeping and turndown service. It was too bad that the lounge had to be kept closed, but hey, it's covid times. Can't really complain about regulations. Room was comfortable with great views. We got a welcome cava bottle to the room with clarins products, which was a nice touch. Had some issues with the pool towel, as initially we were told to bring our pool towls from the room as they did not produce them pool side.....then few days later to discover other guests getting towels by poolside.....again, it just seemed the hotel was only just starting to get their act together. Just, I didnt expect pool towels to be such an issue when staying with a 5 star resort. Bali bed reservation process was a bit silly. The pool attendee only checks whether the bed is reserved by the right person or not and then tells you to book it by calling reception. Would have been easier if you could just book it there and then rather than going to an extra and unnecessary admin over a sun bed. And even if you do book it through reception, you have no idea where the bed is since none of the beds are numbered and you have to find the pool guy to find the right one, which he also doesn't really know until he unfolds a print out of a map. It's quite Unncessarily complicated over a sun bed. You get one day free for it then you have to pay. Either way, booking process could be made easier. April was still quite chilly....the 2 outdoor pools were not used.....the water was still way too cold. Their small private beach was quite nice where you could swim out in the ocean directly from the hotel. But...yea....April is too cold still. Water was fresh! The restaurants Perseo and Arrels were quite nice. It's not often you have a hotel that changes the dinner menu every night for buffets and tasting menu. So, eating at the hotel every night didn't get boring at all. Selection was enough and fresh and seasonable with good seafood at Perseo. Arrels was a nice experience too. Wish they had more Mallorcan wines in the wine list and possibly more wines by the glass options. Other than that, it was a nice stay.

Likewise we are happy about your appreciation of the room facilities and cleaning service: we have intensified our cleaning and sanitizing protocols, introducing up to 6 levels of disinfection to maximize the wellbeing of our guests during the stay. In reference to the pool area, we are surprised about the comments relative to the towels' service, since, due to the restrictions and avoid any handling, they are left everyday in all the guests' rooms, starting from the arrival day. As to the Bali Bed reservations, at the moment of the booking at the reception or concierge desks, the pool concierge receive the number of the Bali Bed reserved in order to welcome and escort each guest. Please be ensured that we will consider all your comments, being thankful for them, as constructive tool to improve the quality service we strive to offer. I stayed at the Hotel Del Mar in July 2020. I was impressed with the common areas, the pool and the private beach. However, the hotel inside looks dated. We were upgraded to a suite which was poorly furnished. The corridors did not have AC and as a result of that it was so hot. Getting the room to a decent temperature was also an issue. Service wasn’t definitely what you would expect in a 5* hotel: - we checked in checked in at noon and the room wasn’t ready. We checked again at 3pm and the room was still not ready when the hotel was at 20% capacity. - almost no service in the pool area. You had to chase somebody to bring the towels. - we had to wait over 30 mins to get a table at the restaurant when they had free table just because the did not have enough staff - waiters at the restaurant don’t know what wine can be served by the glass and brought us the wrong order - breakfast was only served outside with some tables being under the sun in the heat which was extremely unpleasant. Service at breakfast was really slow. - no water bottles in the room. We transmitted these issues to Maria, the guest experience, while we were there and later though email. All she did was apologize. On the other hand the SPA was excellent.

Beautiful location at which we have stayed over 20 times. Service levels has dropped to an unacceptable level and reluctantly it’s time to find a new hotel for our twice yearly visit to the island of Majorca. Security issues on the grounds of the hotel was a worry and service levels following an accident were nothing short of shambolic. Response from the Management was uninspiring and delusional. What a shame - end of an era.

Given the restrictions that we, understandably, are having to accept, but which inevitably impact on the enjoyment of our holiday, I would have expected the management to have been rather more generous than to continue to expect guests who have paid very handsomely to stay at this hotel to pay for the use of a Bali bed when the hotel is clearly under occupied and all beds in current view are vacant. Staff are polite but so far I haven’t noticed any major effort being made to make guests feel special.

We do regret very much to learn that it was not completely satisfactory, due to the selling of our Bali beds. Please, consider that the whole team has happily got back to work for the opening of the hotel at the end of July, given the difficulties that everyone had to face this season. It is true that, as an important worldwide hotel Company, we have implemented the #StaySafeWithMelia program, with the overall objective being to maximize the wellbeing of our guests and employees during their stay. As a result, we have adapted some of our services to prioritize the safety of our guests and employees, which all our guests are informed about, prior to their arrival to let them be aware of what to expect. The hotel is fully equipped with sunbeds and sun umbrellas all around the external area, available for all the internal guests; while the Bali Beds are available also for the external guests and linked to different "relax and gastronomic packages". We are surprised to realize that you did not notice their occupancy because it is a very demanded concept, given the comfort and stunning location to enjoy the experience. Finally, it is sad to know that you did not perceive our daily efforts to serve and please our guests in the respect of all the new safety protocols we were trained to adapt quickly for everyone's safeness and deserved relax.
