This place for its location, beauty and service deserves to be part of the leading hotels of the world. The beach and pool are just a dream. Nice balinese beds and good beach club to drink during the day. The breakfast is rich and so much variety with express omelettes prepared by a chef on the place. Tried Amaro restaurant and the fish was exetremely good, the service as well. The room was large with wonderful view from the balcony. Last but not least the experience guest manager Maria Ansalone was the cherry on the tart! She was taking care of every detail making the stay so very special. I d return with great pleasure.
A unique experience, the hotel is spectacular, right on the beach and with a real relaxed vibe. What makes this hotel special, is by far the service, the attention to every detail and the attentive staff. So much so we have been coming back here year after year The views from the hotel are breathtaking, food is fresh and a real gastronomic delight. Well done to the team who run this hotel - I have travelled the world at 5 start hotels and this is by far my favourite
I truly don’t understand how the Gran Melisa doesn’t have perfect five star reviews. It’s a one of a kind hotel, with private beach, gorgeous views, large pool and exceptional service. The spa is lovely and we enjoyed every meal we had. We stayed in a suite and it was well worth the extra expense - we loved our balconies and the view. My husband and I can’t wait to come back.
A truly 5 star experience quite expensive but you get what you pay for, attention to detail and warm daily greetings from all members of their staff. Bedroom was quiet and we slept very well. Lovely pool area.
This is a big bland hotel - group owned - and it feels it. Our suite was pointlessly big – basically two normal rooms together. I wouldn’t bother as we only used one of the two balconies and each room would be pretty large. Breakfast was annoying. No benefit to being red level. The red level lounge didn’t really work as it is quite small and unless you got a sofa the chairs were so uncomfortable you wouldn’t stay. I guess a cunning plan to stop people settling in. The nibbles were average. Food OK in the hotel but a wee bit trapped as while the location had a handy Spar for wine and bits - pretty much nothing else within walking distance. Honestly at the price point just not the real deal. But our bad that we paid for a suite so for us a three but a fair four.
Lovely hotel with staff that are friendly, welcoming and helpful. The hotel looks a little dated and tired from the outside, particularly when approaching from the main entrance. But the moment you step inside it is a good experience from start to finish. We had two standard red level rooms, both clean and with fabulous views across the bay. The position of the hotel is fantastic with a choice of sunbeds, by the sea or the pools. Breakfasts were fabulous! Both lunch and dinner were also very good. We went on half board and were glad we did so as we were able to experience the a la carte menu and only a few dishes carried a small supplement. Overall, a great three days spent here, a we would recommend it for sure.
We booked a 'Red Level' stay at the Melia del Mar. Our room was nothing fantastic. The pool areas are very large and there is no need to be right on top of other guests. The restaurants were good and reasonably priced for a 5 star hotel. They have a small sheltered beach area as well as easy access to the sea immediately in front of the hotel with excellent swimming and snorkeling for water lovers. But what I would like to comment on was the the level of service and consideration which was beyond exceptional. A very nice touch is the evening complimentary drinks and canopies for Red Level guests, and when we had another couple join us in the evening as our guests, unexpectedly, they were not charged for these drinks and canopies. In addition, my wife has a serious skin problem and must avoid direct sunlight. When I mentioned that it was difficult for us to find an area around the pool that was shaded all day, the Guest Relations manager arrange the use of a Bali Bed for us at no extra charge for the whole stay of our holiday. In short nothing was too much trouble for the hotel to ensure that our stay was a memorable one. This hotel will certainly be on our return booking list.…

This is a great hotel. Incredible views . Clean and modern. The service was exceptional. Looking forward to come back at the earliest occasion. The food at the Arrels Restaurant is mediocre. The variety of food can be improved. Overall is a great place for vacation, rest and swim.
The hotel is amazing , great location, facilities, and views. We stayed at the premium suit, it was magnificent and had an exclusive lounge area with a very nice view.. the staff is super friendly and welcoming expect for Maria (general manager) One day we were playing some music by the beach area.. a guest complained and Maria came to inform us but she was rude.. we immediately turned off the music .. later on our friend was feeling a bit sick, Maria came back again and requested her to go back to her room and was very rude and racist! Later that night we complained to the agency we booked from and to leading hotels of the world as we did not like the way she spoke and treated us, was very disrespectful and lacks basic customer service One day, my friends and I were waiting in the lobby for the taxi.. Maria the general manager came to us and said in a very loud and rude tone (I saw your complaint and i disagree with all what you mentioned, it was all false and I disapprove it) we were shocked of the way she talked to us, she came back again and said (stop disrespecting me or i will call the police, i will show you all tomorrow) bare in mind that we did not say anything .. she threatened her customers who are staying in the hotel to enjoy their summer vacation! That was really unacceptable and we will not stay in the hotel ever again (although we liked it so much and the rest of the staff were toooo friendly)…
