What a place! It was utter paradise, the staff were amazing better than any hotel I’ve ever been to before all so friendly and accommodating. The beach was as pictured, so lovely and plenty of sun beds so no need to get up super early to get one. The water sports lads were a great laugh, plenty of snorkelling! It’s flat enough to paddle board most of the time. Always had a delicious cocktail (and made some tasty mocktails) the hotel can organise trips out too which is great and there is lots on offer. The rooms were clean with a kingsize bed and there is entertainment on every night. It’s a short walk to shops or resultants. If you like horses 10000% recommend getting up around 5:30 and do the 10 minutes walk to pebbles beach to watch the racehorses in the sea (that’s around 6:00am) Don’t hesitate and book now!!…
Can't fault the place one of best hotel s I've ever been to .First class service all the staff couldn't of been more helpful .stayed in a garden Room was beautiful .The food was excellent couldn't fault it such a good selection and always a great selection .The steak house was fab and the Japanese restaurant on the premises too .we went in may and wasn't crowded with people which was nice could always get a drink and sun bed .The beach of the hotel was stunning one of the best on the island .cold scented flannels were handed out to us on beach such a nice touch .Would definitely go there again highly recommend this place loved every bit of it .
It was our starting place while visiting Barbados. It is a pleasant resort, nice beach, polite staff, nice rooms and food was ok. Location was good, beach clean (regularly cleaned in the morning) and good place for snorkelling. However the management should address allocation of beach towels … if you are not there early in a day you might not get one. Also we were asked to reallocate on the beach as there was a wedding which was causing annoyance among the guests and staff… the management should have blocked the area a night before and in this way the guests would not be upset.
My husband and I went to Barbados May 19-29 and stayed at Sugar Bay. Though we are very well travelled we have never been to Barbados or the Caribbean. After searching several all inclusive resorts and perusing several reviews we were absolutely thrilled to find the Sugar Bay Resort. To be clear, this is not a mega resort in Cancun during spring break. We will break down my review in to categories (beach, food/beverage, staff, location, accommodation, and fellow travellers). Beach - 9/10 sand was like brown sugar, water was crystal clear, zero garbage or debris, snorkelling right off the beach (turtles and fish). Service at the beach was also exceptional - bar drinks and cold peppermint cloths. Thanks to Jermaine! Food - 9/10 variety was excellent but not overwhelming like many all inclusives. The food was very high quality and was made fresh three times daily. Thanks to Pedro (food and Beverage Manager) who was hands on and ensured that food quality was always maintained to a high quality. Two A La Carte restaurants were exceptional. Umi (Japanese) and Sizzler (Steakhouse) were both exceptional and provided a nice reprieve from the buffet-though as mentioned we could eat at the buffet everyday. Be choosy which days you go as you don’t want to miss out on a great buffet meal. Food and beverage staff were amazing at the risk of leaving a few out I would specifically shout out Kay (friendly, engaging, happy to be there, informative) , Devanshi, Andrea (omelette perfectionist) Lasonta, and Carri Ann (ever so patient with our tardiness). Waiter Omar was exceptional and Tyrese (Jack of all trades) was awesome. Bar staff were also exceptional. Helen and Damian were professional, engaging, knowledgeable and funny. They made the experience all the better. Nicolas at the Mongoose went above and beyond to purchase pickles on his day off to make sure we had the ingredients for a “pickle back” the following night. Location- 9/10 superb location. Walking distance to Bridgetown, other beaches, horse track, horse bathing, and The Gap (we are walkers and don’t mind putting on some miles). If you are going to walk be aware of the heat and bring lots of water. Accommodation - From check in to check out all staff were amazing. Front desk and Bell hop staff to name a few- Nicholas, Jemini, Nic and Rihanna. Our room was a great size, smelled like a spa, cleaned to perfection and overlooked the pool and pool bar area. The resort was small and quaint which enhanced the opportunity to meet new people. It never felt like a “cattle call” or “rat race”. I would highly recommend this all inclusive resort and will return.…
I think a few things stopped me giving this hotel 5 stars. Food was good, staff on the whole were friendly. Drinks seemed very watered down and then packed with ice. If you like gin bring your own as not very nice here. The pool is shallow at only 3ft at highest but be careful as steps inside that you can fail to notice which one of my party hurt themselves and was shook up. I did mention to management that maybe that they could put something up saying beware of the steps but i dont think they will . The sea is lovely but very stoney just walk in between them. Coffee machine wasnt working properly and gave out luke warm water . Entertainment was very repetitive apart from one night when they had a group on oh and another when they had a couple of dancers. This all finished at 10pm and bar closed at 11pm First holiday ive had where you went to bed early. Rooms were nice with the touch of dressing gown and slippers. Nice shower. Room needed more plug sockets. Money exchange at reception which is good and very helpful where they can be. great steakhouse Sizzles superb steaks and umi lovely varied food.…
The hotel is fantastic. The beach and sea is incredible. Water sports were great fun. The food was excellent and varied. The drinks were top notch. Really enjoyed the group Virgo who were by far the best entertainment act they had. The staff (especially the restaurant staff), were unbelievably friendly and made the stay memorable.
Beautiful hotel near Bridgetown. Faultless food with a wide variety of choices each day and exceptional quality. Also a wide selection of drinks available all day long! The staff were amazingly attentive and friendly And all provided excellent customer service Would definitely return again
Fantastic week away at Sugar Bay!! Great hotel which had wonderful food, rooms, views, beach, loungers, staff, just everything. Would highly recommend it and the Air Canada flight was also wonderful. Will be back!!
We have just spent 9 nights and couldn't ask for anything better the staff are amazing and will bend over backwards to help. The facilities are great and the food was lovely with great choices. If you want night time entertainment its ok but but finished by 10pm. All said and done you will have a fantastic holiday and won't be disappointed!
I have not been on holiday in over 6 years due to ill health so making the decision to come to Barbados was a huge one for me. I have several health needs and had emailed the hotel before booking to ensure they could accommodate me. I really did not need to worry, the medical equipment I need was already in my room on our arrival and an additional aid I needed was in place 30 minutes after my request. The staff could not have been more helpful, they are all so friendly greeting everyone with a smile and ensuring you are having a good time The food was excellent and always plenty of choice. Afternoon tea was a very tasty bonus. I will definitely be returning to Sugar Bay next year
