This was my first time in Barbados, and I didn't really know what to expect. Upon arrival, you're greeted by the rudest front desk agents I have ever met. I arrived about an hour after check-in, and my room was not ready. Instead of offering some type of explanation or compensation, they brushed it off as if it was nothing and made me wait an extra hour to get my room (very annoying, especially after you've been flying all day). I finally got to my room, and guess what? There wasn't any running water all night, so not only did I have to wait an additional hour after I arrived, I couldn't even take a proper shower after my long flight. I call the front desk again and basically get brushed off like nothing happened. I requested to have the manager call me in the morning to find some type of compensation for the inconvenience, and I'm still waiting on that call. The restaurant was very expensive, and the food was basic, to say the least. I do not recommend this Hotel!!

Pleased to have visited again for the 4th time, our last time was in November 2019, and once again we enjoyed our stay. Yes the hotel has flaws, but nothing that spoils the holiday, and the rooms are being improved with new flooring and showers replacing the baths, although would recommend booking a courtyard or pool view room if you can. This hotel has charm and character, and friendly staff. Location is perfect for visiting the racecourse (just across the road), or following the boardwalk towards St Lawrence Gap, or walking in the opposite direction towards beautiful Carlisle Bay and Bridgetown. If you don't want to walk step outside the hotel and you'll soon catch the local transport. 3.50 dollars will take you way up the west coast, or south to Oistins and the Gap. Food choice is good and the chefs are happy to help if necessary. Eggs and omelettes cooked to order at breakfast. Can recommend the grilled burgers and the desserts. You'll soon make friends with the staff and other holiday makers, it's that kind of place. Watched OliveO get married on the beach. It was lovely to be an uninvited guest.

Just returned from 2 weeks at this hotel. Had the most fantastic time. Excellent customer service. The most comfortable bed ever. Room cleaned daily including mopping the floor so never any sand underfoot. My partner has celiac disease so required a gluten-free diet but this was no problem and there was always plenty of choice. In fact the chef came to see him at each mealtime and checked that he was OK and even made him special dishes to order. All the food and drinks are excellent. Got married at the hotel and it was the most perfect day and was even better than we could have wished for.

Stayed for 10 nights in a Pool Access double room on Virgin Holidays package in mid-March. We had a great stay, highlights being meals in a la carte restaurant, burgers in Drifters, cocktails in evening, beach in the day, but above all, really helpful and friendly staff. Room was very comfortable and clean, and as advertising tells you, in colonial style. Seabed at beach adjacent hotel is rocky, but two minutes walk to perfect swimming spots nearby. Some reviews are critical of seaweed in water, in my experience, that is where you tend to find it. It’s nature people! Location for walks into Bridgetown and to St Lawrence Gap is great, with the Garrison, the racetrack and George Washington’s House close at hand. All in, great holiday in a great setting, with great staff who made our entire stay highly enjoyable. Would I recommend? Yes. Would I go back? Yes.

Wow, just returned from a fantastic holiday. The location was brilliant, the size of the hotel is perfect, the staff were happy & friendly. The food was amazing, we tried all the different options of where to eat & they were all delicious, nothing was repeated and breakfast was a massive variety for all tastes. The special Easter meal was a real treat. I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

As with many hotels on this island a little jewel jammed in in a less than high end area. You will enter at level 4 and find restaurant ( very good meal and service) and go down to your room on 2 and 3 or pool area on 1. Only 1 elevator near lobby, rooms extend fro there out to water. Long walk fro elevator to ours at end closest to water. Pool bar and food very nice, pools great, beach just fine. Room up to date comfortable. Would go back

Can't praise this hotel enough, it's a beautiful place in a fantastic location, with excellent staff (every single one of them were genuinely friendly, helpful and welcoming) The food was probably the best I've ever had on a holiday, lot's of choice, never repetitive, many local recipe's and perfectly cooked every time. Absolutely faultless, unreservedly recommended.
