We went to Mumbles for the weekend to visit family for the first time since February 2020. We knew Patricks and have often eaten there or enjoyed drinks in their bar/lounge area. We were greeted very warmly and invited to enjoy drinks while our rooms were being prepared. We had 2 rooms, one twin and one with a king size bed. Both rooms were spacious and contained lots of thoughtful little touches, e.g bottled water and small fresh milk in the bar fridges, iron and ironing board, etc. Both rooms over looked the ocean and were tastefully and comfortably furnished. As a result of the current pandemic health regulations breakfast is served in the rooms - the breakfast tray was loaded with delicious goodies, including both hot and cold items. Every time we saw any of the staff they were professional but more than that they were friendly and you are left feeling like you are spending the weekend with friends. We can't rate this place highly enough - you MUST simply try it for yourself.

From start to finish the whole checking in and out experience was very straight forward. We were extremely fortunate with our room as it was one with a sea view, tastefully decorated, bordering on quirky, spacious, light and airy. The staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We weren’t able to dine in due the restrictions however breakfast was an absolute gem, everything you could wish for, room service, with a smile, delightfully presented, cereals, continental and a breakfast baguette with freshly squeezed orange juice, with tea and coffee readily available in the room. We were able to park right outside, very very lucky with that! There is a car park directly opposite the hotel. Everything within a stones throw, bars, pubs, restaurants and take-aways with an abundance of outdoor drinking and dining areas. Thanks Catherine and team, we can’t wait to return. Highly recommended.

I’ve not been to the Mumbles & Gower in over 40 years My mistake I’d forgotten what a beautiful place it is (when the suns out a least) After having my intended 2 weeks in the Greek sunshine cancelled due to Covid I booked a 3 night stay with my wife at “Patricks with Rooms” which is located right on the seafront in Mumbles Only just over an hours drive & no need to quarantine on return This place is basically a 5 star Restaurant/Bar with high class rooms attached It is a family run concern, all of whom were very friendly & helpful as were the rest of the staff Parking is an issue as it’s on the main road, but there are pay & display car parks nearby at £6 a day We stayed in a Double Deluxe type room The room was modern, bright & airy, large king size bed, bath & separate shower & spotlessly clean Due to Covid restrictions breakfast was left outside your door at a pre-arranged time This consisted of a bacon/sausage/egg roll, croissants, cereal & orange juice Adequate but not quite the same as sitting down to a full English The view out the balcony window over Swansea Bay was stunning, but be advised The rooms here are split between the Main Building and an annex (a converted boat house) Access to which is a challenge if you have mobility issues like us We knew this before hand, so booked the break with Booking.com & specifically went for this type of room as they state all deluxe rooms are wheelchair friendly & we therefore assumed (wrongly) that we would be in the Main Building & not have a problem There are only a few rooms here that are accessible without the need to climb steps We were located in “The Boat House” access to which involves a 50 metre walk up a very steep slope followed by a climb up a minimum of 25 steps to the 1st floor, another 17 to floor 2 and 17 to floor 3 (so 59 steps if you end up on the top, there is no lift) Neither of us require a chair, but were no spring chickens either, it was a hard slog getting to room (we were on the 2nd floor) The staff did try to re-locate us, but as they were fully booked were not able to accomplish this Overall we had an excellent stay & I would highly recommend this establishment We will return, but next time make sure were in the Main Building

Couldn’t find anything wrong! The service was good but the food overshadowed if - interesting, creative, hit and very tasty. Eat here both nights we were staying, and wouldn’t hesitate to go back again.
