We stayed last night at this hotel whilst attending an event in Swansea, we arrived around 3pm to check in and first appearances and staff were great, we were shown to our room and I can not believe how filthy it was, we had a two bedroom apartment which by the looks of things had not been cleaned recently! Maybe just the beds changed but Neither the kitchen, the bathroom or en-suite and had a good clean in a long time, the grime was disgusting! Beds weren’t very comfy and there was a very loud tapping noise early hours in the morning which disrupted much needed sleep! Good base for 1 night if your not planning on using kitchen. Wouldn’t return.

My wife and I had a very good introduction to the Gower when we stayed overnight at this hotel. While the room (( not in the main building ) was on the small side it was very comfortable and provided us with a good nights sleep. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was excellent, to start my wife had mussles with bacon and leeks, I had chicken liver parfait. Yo follow we both had catch of the day, Hake, in a light batter with chips etc. One of the best meals we have ever had. Breakfast the next day was equally excellent. Recommended

Spent a pleasant few days here in this hotel within 10 minutes walk to Mumbles. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Our large en-suite room was clean and airy with tea/coffee/biscuits/ water daily replenished. Our king size bed, flat screen TV, fan & fluffy towels and dressing gowns. A small garden and outside seating for drinks, relaxing etc. Had two evening meals, food was good but no atmosphere as restaurant was empty. There was a wedding one afternoon/evening in the rear which did not affect us in any way. I would recommend this hotel.

I’ve stayed at Norton House Hotel quite a few times a few times now whilst staying for the occasional days business in Swansea over the past three years. The setting is fabulous, it is a beautiful, well kept house, lovely well maintained gardens. The staff are always very friendly. The rooms are good and very clean. I do keep forgetting how poor the food is at Norton House though. I would advise if you are staying the hotel, driving a short way up the main road to the Mumbles for food. Also I had a strange experience where the TV in the room came on in the middle of the night. It happened three times during the night. The staff have no answer to this problem, but tell me that other guests have complained about this in many of the rooms, over time. This meant a poor nights sleep as I was awake from 01.00 to 04.00hrs, with meetings throughout the following day. The hotel needs to get to the bottom of this problem.

This hotel/'guest' house has all the trappings of a good place but don't look too closely or try to actually get a restful night's sleep there. I found the bed incredibly uncomfortable, and the room dreadfully noisy and unhygenically grubby. If you are looking for the Faulty Towers experience this may just be your dream place! From arrival to departure (which could not have come soon enough in my opinion) everything appeared to be too much bother for the staff and most seemed to take a pride in being rude to their customers. The room appeared to be pleasant enough but within a few minutes of walking around unpacking and getting settled in, the soles of my (thankfully socked) feet were black with sticky dirty residue from the hard flooring which clearly had not seen a mop in a very long time. I shut the ensuite door and bits of discarded toilet paper from the previous guest had been left to greet me, hardly any toilet roll provided and bits of gravel and dirt in the corners of the bedroom. The absolute worst part was the uncomfortable matress (single box matress that suggested it was cheap as chips to begin with and had seen better days) and the flat cardboard like excuses for pillows. Noise from the corridor and surrounding rooms, lots of door slamming and music which started up around midnight. Not at all conducive to a good night's sleep! As if that was not enough, as soon as I stepped from corridor to bedroom, there was no mobile signal whatsoever. Breakfast was mediocre but did not disappoint on 'service with attitude' that was consistent with the rest of the stay. Quite frankly, I was relieved to pack up and get out as soon as possible, to spend the next few days recovering from my bad experience.
