There was one also in the apartment we stayed in back in April 2015 (Bois Mapou - 2 bdrm). I'm pretty sure there is one in each apartment, including an ironing table. Ours was neatly placed in one of the the main bedroom's closet, along with the table. Great place! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and shall return.

I am fairly certain you can change money either on site (only the most mainstream currencies though - USD - Euro). However, it is probably wiser to change funds at the airport when you arrive, or at any bank. Unlike many other countries, the exchange rates are pretty much the same all over the island. Yes, there was a safe in our bungalow (Bois Mapou - 2bdrm). Not sure whether the tap water is safe to drink, but our fridge was already stocked up with two bottles of water when we arrived and then we picked up packs of water the next day. Just to be safe, I wouldn't drink water from he tap, but that's just me... Otherwise, Garden's Retreat was just great for us. Very clean and comfortable (the bungalow we were assigned is either fairly new, or was recently repainted and refreshed as everything was spotless) The only small inconvenience is that the place is alittle out of the way and walking on the main Peyrebère road is somewhat daunting as there are no sidewalks to speak of... and people drive fast... We did not have any problem as we always rent a car on our trips to Mauritius, which is not well equipped for pedestrians... Voilà! Have a pleasant stay!
