This 4-storey hotel of the Kronen hotel chain is named after the nearby hospital. The main clientele of the hotel are people who came to the hospital for examination and relatives of patients. The hotel is located 3.5 km from the center of Stavanger and 12 km from the airport. The hotel has 3 types of rooms - single, double and family. I lived in a single room of 16 sq.m. with an extremely minimalistic design. Own bathroom. Without any frills. Breakfast is included. It's also simple. Three types of sausage, two types of cheese, eggs, omelette, smoked sausages, muesli, pineapple, melon. The price is 20-25% lower for hotels in the center. That's the motive...

We stayed one night here while visiting Stavanger. Got a very good deal considering how much other hotels in Stavanger costs. We had a car so the distance wasn’t problem to us. The hotel is patient hotel to the hospital so in corona times it’s good to be careful when you stay in here.

Basic room with toilet and shower. Perfect for one night. Quiet and good to sleep. You could buy breakfast from the hospital cantina.

Car parking was 160kr for one night.

Thank you for leaving us this feedback. I wish to add that we are connected to the hospital, but there is no one in quarantine or sick staying at our hotel. We are very strict about this, and follow all government guidelines for covid-19. The cafe is own by the hotel, and is not the hospital cantina. We welcome you back and hope you had a great holiday in our city.

I attended a large European Scout and Guide Camp close by and opted to stay in Stavanger and stay here for my final two nights.

The accommodation is very basic, but incredibly comfortable and more than sufficient. I had a single bed - which was an adequate size and was very comfy. I slept very well.

The room was modern; with a decent sized television, plenty of lighting and a good-sized bathroom with a shower.

The reception was very friendly and check in was swift and very easy.

I didn’t sample the breakfast, but I did use the 24/7 shop downstairs. The variety was positive and the check out was self-serve, it was so simple.

The transport routes into the city are brilliant - there is a bus stop outside the hotel. You’re in the city with 10/15 minutes.

Unusual location as part of the hospital however this gives 24 hr service including self service food outlet. Very well served by buses to and from the city centre (SUS) and also taxis (our airport bus did not turn up). Also 10 minutes walk to the start of Stavanger parkrun but beware Google Maps gets very confused with footpaths.

There was an oil conference in town and the other hotels were super expensive. This is a hospital hotel. Bare minimum. I wouldn't stay her again. It was a bit depressing. The hallway carpet was heavily stained with only God knows what. The staff at the desk were not very helpful.

I have to say that I am quite impressed by this hotel as I had kind of low expectations going that this is a "hospital hotel" and reading bad reviews both on the rooms and the breakfast.

We have traveled some over the years and we have been to some really amazing hotels so I will call my self somewhat picky, but the look and feel of our room was definitely up to the task as it was clean with decent modern look.

There are two small complains that I tend to have with Norwegian hotels:
1. I really do dislike two singel bed setup to be a "queen size", the comfort of waking up in the expanding Crack in the middle is never fun.

2. The room was a little to hot as there are no AC, but there are one window you can open, but there is a slight chance you will wake up to sirens or the medical helicopter as stated before : you are staying right next to the hospital.

Over to the breakfest:
I have read quite a lot of bad reviews here and I had quite low expectations but I was again positively surprised as I saw few flaws with this breakfest.

They had fruits, home made bread, juice, coffee, different cereal, three kinds of yoghurt, cheese, jelly, sausage, hard and soft boiled eggs, scramble egg and toast.

Not the very best selection but far from the worst!

Overall a pleasant stay and perfect choice when you or loved ones are going to the hospital.

PS: The parking is also quite expensive but this is not controlled by the hotel anyway.

I got so furious that I write review even before I check out.
We arrived yesterday night and paid for 2 nights by cash for 8 beds dormitory. The brown hair girl on the reception received our money and said the beds are booked for us and gave the room key to us.
But today, another yellow hair girl on the reception came to us having dinner after tiring hiking on Prekestolen, asked us whether we stay in this hotel or not, and asked us for the receipt. But we didnt got the receipt from the brown hair girl so we couldnt show it to her.
She said, on the computer, it shows we paid just for one night, so she could know whether we paid or not tomorrow when the brown hair one comes. We asked to her of calling to the brown one and checking but the answer was she couldnt because the brown hair one is free today.
I was so upset because the yellow hair girl who worked today(saturday) was so rude that she treated us like a liar or something. We cannot understand why we should be in this unpleasant difficulty because of the stupid reception girl's mistake.
Get the receipt if you dont want to be treated as a liar.

My partner and I stayed here during a trip to Stavanger and the surrounding region in June 2012. The hotel itself seemed very clean and tidy along with the rooms. The rooms themselves were of a good size with flat screen TV (10 or so channels, not all English), bed was comfortable, although in our room was two singles put close together. The bathroom en-suite to the room was very clean and also a good size with a great shower. Our room faced out to the front, about halfway up the building. The buffet breakfast each morning was filling and very tasty. Location-wise it was approx 20-25min walk in to Stavanger town.

The strangest thing about the hotel (and this is just because we hadn't come across it before) was that it was part of a hospital, so when you checked-in at the front desk you either went left for hospital admittances or right for a hotel stay - in someways quite funny.

The only downside we found was that with the room window open, it could occasionally be noisy with ambulances or the air ambulance helicopter arriving but not enough to disturb - with the windows closed it was silent! Also the parking was a little on the expensive side (being Norway) and you couldn't pay per hour, it was in blocks like a shopping centre or similar type car park, so it wasn't cost effective to keep coming and going.

If you're the kind of person who loves being at hospitals and like the steril and clean look of hospital rooms then this is the hotel for you. However, if you want a real hotel; look elsewhere.

In short:
+ The beds were OK, but nothing special.
+ Very clean.
- The minibar was empty.
- The TV in the room was horrible and tiny.
- The room looked sterile. White walls/light brown.
- Roomservice is non-existant.
- The staff was not unfriendly, but not wery helpful either.
- Bad wireless internet.
- Cold room. All heating was turned off when I arrived. I estimate temp. was about 13 C.
- Food was nothing special.

Terrible place to sleep, was often for work there, everytime there was an issue with the booking or a bed missing, also experienced broken beds. The best happened one day when was misteriously fully booked and once some "food" (the breakfast buffet is madeof first price prodicts from supermarket, they don't even use real eggs ) was over the manager came to me and my collegues claiming that we were taking all tbe food to make busket lunches. Next time in Stavanger I'll rather sleep in a field.
