The story is wonderful - brother and sister making a go of hotel their great grandmother once owned. Food was fantastic - no other place to eat - but not a problem. View from balcony was amazing. Lots of interesting rooms. Very clean. Not a five star only because of small details - thin towels, no phones/TV or anything in...

Beautiful elegant well kept old hotel. Chef was a genius - fixed menu was excellent. Nice view on fiord from comfortable room. Excellent staff. Ask for "lunch paper" at breakfast so you can make sandwiches to take hiking ( not free - ask to have it added to your bill - you can do this at most hotels). Great quiet...

The Torvis Hotel is a family-run hotel in a beautiful location with great food. Service is excellent and the rooms are nice. My husband and I stayed in one room and our college-age kids stayed in another room a couple of doors down. Both rooms had views of the fiord. The staff helped us find a fiord cruise to suit...

A really nice country hotel, lots of stuffed animals - the bear by the front door was a favourite. Rustic country decor, with lots of wood, fireplaces, leather lounges, library - lots of nooks and crannies for a wet winter days to relax in. The room was in the newer (getting old now) wing with a great view over the...

Beautiful view of a fjord (although not the best in Norway) hotel looks great from outside and the restaurant decor is stunning. I found the rooms not quite to my taste as I prefer a more modern decor and these were a little old fashioned for me. Still the rooms were very clean and we were kindly ungraded to. Balcony...

We booked this far in advance with high expectations. The hotel looks very nice, has a good look and feel, the history is everywhere. The room was ok, but not spectaculair. I know Norway is expensive but this is too high for value. Extreme friendly staff, breakfast is excellent, but since I am a Tea person, I would advise them...

We stayed for two nights. The first evening I went down to the reception to tell them that there was no wifi in our room. They told me that they had many guests who stayed there before and they never heard such a thing and that they can turn the wifi off and on and talk to the manager about...

My fiancee and I stayed at this hotel in July. This was a wonderful experience and a great weekend! Our room was on the top floor with a great view over the fjord and the mountains from our balcony. The room was decorated and furnished in the romantic style of a nordic country house. The bed was comfortable and the...

The hotel captures a small part of Norwegian history, and is an experience in its self. Situated just by the fjord, the staff is generous, and makes you feel extremely welcome. Room had a good view, super clean, and a very very good bed. But the best thing is the food! Based on local ingredients, your'e in for a truly...
