This was one of the best accommodations I was in so far. Great location, very nice staff and super clean! I took the loft room and It was great. A lot of space, brand new bathroom and a lot of privacy. They also left a paper with tips for restaurants, bars and supermarkets. Very useful if you want to go... More

We stayed three nights in the Carbiner Apartment and could have not been more satisfied. Very well equipped, spacious and brilliantly located in the Bryggen district, it was close to everything to see in Bergen. Providing excellent value, this is provided us with a great base for our Bergen Break.

My family stayed in the loft for 2 days. This was an amazing place to stay. Residential area but very close to downtown and the Floibanen. The room was rustic but beautiful. Very clean, everything we needed. There is also a common area kitchen and living room. Out of our 8 day vacation, (5 different hotels) this was by far... More

About 15 minute walk from the train station which was good since we arrived in a practical downpour about 9pm! Get clear directions on how to get to the guesthouse since there are several turns and streets. Bergen can be confusing upon arrival. Bear in mind two rooms share a bathroom which is fine and the upstairs rooms (one of... More

We stayed there for 3 nights in the basement in june. Since the sun sets only around midnight it turned out to be actually better because there isn't a lot of light in the night which helped our kids sleep better. There is a small park and a sand play area right next to the B&B which was awesome for... More

This review is of the penthouse apartment in particular, which we rented in May 2016 for 5 nights. We communicated with Yvonne many times via email and her emails to us prior to booking and after were very helpful and answered in detail all of our many questions. She even sent her daughter to pick us up when our train... More

My husband and I stayed in the Carriage House, separate from the main guesthouse. It's located on the Bryggen side, away from the high traffic tourist areas with chain hotels. I recommend it for anyone who wants to get a feel for how the locals live. Within walking distance to the Floibanen, restaurants, and the water. We felt like we... More

We spent three nights in the Carbiner House Apartment run by the To Sostre Guesthouse, which is located above a sculptor's gallery at Ovregaten 49. The apartment had distinct rooms for the kitchen (with full size fridge, dishwasher, stove and oven), living area (with couch, dining table and TV), bedroom, and a tiny bathroom that felt like a closet. While... More

This is the kind of accommodation I really like, but isn't for everyone, particularly if you like impersonal chain hotels. Note that it is neither a hotel, nor a B&B, so 'guesthouse' is the correct description, and is like being in a shared house with the use of communal rooms / facilities. Yvonne is a charming hostess and was very... More
